Few sad things to announce.....

Big River Inn is closed and has no intention of opening again anytime soon.

Also, the Catfish Cantina is closing their doors as well in April.

I am on the hunt for a new location to hold our Fathers Day event.  :'(

Blythe is a pretty broad suggestion. I don't know Blythe well. I need suggestions as far as where will everyone hang out during the day? Where will everyone stay?

Blythe has the hotels. There is a good spot and enough space where we have southwind regatta, problem is no boating Friday. But we could do aha Quinn sand bar Friday and same spot as southwind Saturday.

Problem is that Aha Quin is 30 min drive time from Blythe. Too far away.

Also, i heard that the guy who does the performance regatta was told he isn't welcome this year to Aha Quin. I'm going to assume they don't want any group events there, period.

There is the new hotel there right by the Riviera, and it looks like they have plenty of boat trailer parking at the Riviera, but are they welcoming to a large group like SCJB?

There are many facets to be looked at when doing these events. Everyone always just yells out their favorite river/lake spot, but in reality it's an awful idea to try to throw an event at their spot.

If you are referring to the southwind regatta in September, book anytime and anywhere. There is no specific hotel or group rate offered for that event at this time. There hasn't been in years past, so I don't know if Jake will do something this year.

Yes I completely agree. Scjb has grown so much in just the small time I have been apart of it and priority is to make sure everyone will be accounted for. There needs to be enough room for everyone to stay as well as a a big enough spot of beached area to accommodate everyone. It seemed to work well for the southwind regatta and one of the reasons I believe everyone is recommending Blythe is because is nice water and a beautiful area. I will say having a light boat it is nice not having to be on the look out for wake board boats on thar lower part of the river. But in all it might be something to look into and weigh the odds. We only have one event on the lower river currently and be nice to keep it close to big river since BRI can't accommodate any of us. It would even be nice to one day try out Martinez as well. Might wanna ask James about that area and accommodations.

Martinez has zero lodging.

I am open to Blythe, just don't know where to put people and make it work. I'll make some calls in the morning to see about lodging and launching.

Is there any public launch ramps down there that are decent? Or are they all private?
