getting ready for paint

we are going to try to paint my hornet $:-\$ it will probably take a while because we dont know what the fork we are doing but hey why not try

had to tear it down first

i think a tweaker owned this boat, whith all the wire i pulled out

Flip it over, paint the bottom single stage and speedcoat the "wet" part. Then turn it over and do any graphics in basecoat and clearcoat over them. Go to a paint supply house and get a "system", all primers, basecoats and clear all same brand and compatible. Take your time, one step atta time.

Heck yea, good chance to "work" the bottom. Prolly pick up a MPH or two and look good too!

Did you have a pump brace? If not sounds like your dad needs to fab one up for you, especially with the conditions these boats run in.

been a little while since we worked on it, so today we had to get it off the trailer.
first we built a dolly

Omar we sure could have used your skillz beacause we sure aint to carpenters

this was our first try but figured that the boat would push the rails apart and we had no way to brace it

once again we dont know what the hell we are doing

we tore that apart so we could add for the bracing (DUH)

i didn't carpet the bunks because the bottom will be painted.
oh yeah a pic of the foreman

now the fun, we gotta get that boat off that trailer and on the dolly $:-\$

never done this before

floor jack a peice of 4x4 and a cherry picker

lifted the boat off the trailer and inched the trailer out, we put the dolly right behind it just in case it fell.

just slid her the rest of the way

all in all it was pretty easy and only took about 15 min, but now it will be easier to get inside and replace the wood.

Looks good Ralph . I'd only move it forwad a little more on the dolly so it isn't so bow heavy is all .

i was thinking that because i can lift the transom but it would take a gorilla to lift the bow. then i started thinking that the transom shouldn't be hanging off the dolly

i will move it up as you say

You could very well be right . just an assumtion I made lifting up on mine . Bow on mine was way heavier than the aft end .

you know as light as the transom is it probably wont hurt it, and i will be doing the bottom any way

i got sticker removal shit too, its called a D-A sander with 80 grit in your hand
