Those hooks will work just fine.  You have to connect to the trailer so attach some hooks to the frame rails.

i have heard they are a good idea, i have them on the new boat but have never had them on any other boat, including forkedup, never had any problems (knock on wood) i think it looks cleaner without them as 76 said, but how much is the extra security worth to you

Towing a single axle trailer with passenger car tires, I have hit things unexpectedly hard enough that the boat jumped up on top of the bunks.  Fortunately it was pretty noticeable from inside the truck.   I can just imagine what a boat would do if the truck gets involved in even a minor collision.  I'm just saying . . .

I think California requires transom tie downs by law.  I may be wrong nut I think I was told that.  Maybe it's just for certain boats.

i agree i like the cleaner look and drilling holes in the boat ehhhhhhhh....i would get a nice wide rachet tie down and go over the pump and put like a microfibre towel around the strap where the pump is if you are worried about rubbing paint off...that's my .02


i like the transom on the bahner looks clean as hell with them eyes on there IDK...maybe something trick like a blue anodized flush mount one would look cool

Just for the record, I'm running on about 6 hours of sleep in the last 72 hours, but do yourself a huge favor and go pick up the "U" bolt type rings (Sea Dog makes some inexpensive ones), when you go to install them, Measure to the middle and make a mark (I use dry erase markers), then simply measure out evenly and down from the moulding, I always make sure the boat is level then I can just make sure the eyes are "plumb"...

The rings you showed a picture of are not very strong because they pull sideways and tend to crack the gel.

LOL, you know I just picked up the boat and it was raining/snowing like crazy in California.  To be completely honest I never even looked at to see how it was or wasnt tied to the trailer before it was hooked up to the truck.  I noticed that it was tied down but never really "Looked" at it.

PS.  I have read that it is required in all 50 states to have the boat tied down but couldnt tell you whether or not it actually is.
