Hi Guys, I need some ideas - yes I've read most all of the posts about this already.
Apparently the folks who owned my boat before me were either giants, or dwarfs.. I can't decide. I had to take the interior out as I could barely fit behind the wheel and I'm designing new seating. Unfortunately the fuel tank is under the dash leaving only about 12" of depth - with the foot throttle mounted under there it sits just about even with the dash...as in right under the steering wheel. To sit and place your foot on the petal you are either too far from the wheel or you sit with both of your knees pokeing up almost shoulder level 8" or more above the dash, and your hands in your crotch holding the wheel. I'm ONLY 5'6"! I can't operate a boat this way. The only things I can come up with are convert to hand throttle, or extend the steering column about 2 feet (then I can't reach the shifter). The boat is very low with only 12" from the floor to the top of the dash.
Ideas guys?
