Hi Guys, I need some ideas - yes I've read most all of the posts about this already.

Apparently the folks who owned my boat before me were either giants, or dwarfs.. I can't decide. I had to take the interior out as I could barely fit behind the wheel and I'm designing new seating. Unfortunately the fuel tank is under the dash leaving only about 12" of depth - with the foot throttle mounted under there it sits just about even with the dash...as in right under the steering wheel. To sit and place your foot on the petal you are either too far from the wheel or you sit with both of your knees pokeing up almost shoulder level 8" or more above the dash, and your hands in your crotch holding the wheel. I'm ONLY 5'6"! I can't operate a boat this way. The only things I can come up with are convert to hand throttle, or extend the steering column about 2 feet (then I can't reach the shifter). The boat is very low with only 12" from the floor to the top of the dash.

Ideas guys?

what about moving the pedal towards the passenger side? that should let you stretch your leg out to reach it and be comfortable. and the least amount of work

Yeah, tried moving it almost all the way over to the pass side I'm still splayed out like a chicken...one knee up, one knee out. Side fuel tanks...I wish. I'm afraid to move too much weight rearward...I must be sitting up there for some reason?

Back around full circle. I bought a set of dual controls and was going to convert it but in the cramped space available to me I was unable to find a suitable location that didn't interfere with everything else. So I'm back to the foot throttle. Taller seats help A LOT. Where can I find a hub extender for the steering wheel?

i am not to sure about this but wont taller seats make it easier to pitch you out in turns.  thinking more about passengers who are not holding on to anything.

Lots of good deals out there for boats without engines.  Find one you like, swap the needed parts and sell yours.  Let someone else deal with it.

My family bought this boat for my birthday and my son has (for the first time) taken an interest in one of my projects - from what I understand they went through hell to get the paperwork straightened out - I'm not about to let them think I don't appreciate this boat.

If you Google where I'm at you'll also understand that engine-less jet boats aren't really within easy-to-go-see driving distances. (Yurok Reservation, Klamath, CA 95548)
