Just did mine yesterday. Heat the wear ring up with a propane torch just as rubber liner starts to smoke, and pull out with bent screwdriver as stated on American Turbine website. I was surprised that it was so easy. I disassembled my pump completely in about two hours including thorough cleaning ready to be reassembled. This was my first time attempting to do this, it is very simple. Good luck and take your time.
