Berkeley intake fin broke

One of my fins is broken off so the question is should I cut both of them clean off flush with the intake or pay to fix the broken fin???

Grind/Cut them both off and install bolt on fins.

where do I get them and do I need to drill and tap intake for them?

Make them from 1/4" thick 3/4"X 2" T-6 (6061) aluminum.

You could do a reverse right angle ride plate stiffener. Instead of it on top put it on bottom an a bit longer.

I would suggest that you make the fins extend all the way to the front of the intake. We feel that the fins act as a shroud to prevent the front of the intake from uncovering on the launch.

Basically stated, run the angle long side vertical, drill and taper a 5/16" hole every few inches on the short side and after smoothing the intake surface flat where you need to bolt the new fins on, set them in some epoxy and bolt then into some pre drilled and tapped holes. All you need to do then is shape therm and clean it up. Smoothing everything up with Sea Going epoxy.

I agree with extending them to the opening of the intake.

I will see if I can dig up some old pictures of a couple we did.

There is plenty of meat to bolt to on a Berkeley intake.
