Basically stated, run the angle long side vertical, drill and taper a 5/16" hole every few inches on the short side and after smoothing the intake surface flat where you need to bolt the new fins on, set them in some epoxy and bolt then into some pre drilled and tapped holes. All you need to do then is shape therm and clean it up. Smoothing everything up with Sea Going epoxy.
I agree with extending them to the opening of the intake.
I will see if I can dig up some old pictures of a couple we did.
There is plenty of meat to bolt to on a Berkeley intake.
