Berkeley rpm max

would a Berkeley be able to spin safely at 7200rpm of my motor can push it, not sure what impeller is in it. and is a loader absolutely necessary?

You definitely don't want to spin an aluminum impeller that fast. I'm not even sure about a bronze. I would definitely check what impeller u have and make sure its stainless.

what would be the max on an aluminum? and any idea on a loader? it's a Texas tunnel and I'm not to sure if I need to run one or not

I personally would not spin an aluminum past 6k.

You need to be in the balanced stainless with a 17-4 shaft before I would say safe arena.

7200 rpm? What the hell are you running?

All pumps need to be properly loaded. 90+% of the time that means loader.

What's it doing now?

There are a few choices out there.

What mph do you expect? What application?

Where does the peak torque end up?

Turning a centrifugal pump more than about 6,000 rpm gets really challenging when trying to absorb as much hp as humanly possible.

Not saying impossible, saying challenging.

I would consider a dropped keel with a fairly deep shoe. You know who needs to come in here is Flusher. What does the engine weigh? Where is it in relation to the rear of the boat? Acceleration is going to be your challenge. Is the pan at least trapped?

So many questions. Lol

haha maybe I'll limit it to about 6k rpm and a good cruising speed of about 3500-4K rpm

dont know if this helps.

But i have about 450-500 hp on motor, i spin a B- impeller to right about 5k-5200 on motor. 6k-6200 on bottle. On the bottle, im probably in the 6-650 hp range.

With that said, my cruise rpm is 3500. It does not like to cruise any lower. I dont know if this info helps or not.

I run a stainless detailed b/c and run 61-6200 on motor and 7000k on the bottle 650-675 motor 975-1000 on bottle. 32 nos jet

There are plenty of pump places to call and get opinions, I recommend either Chris over at B1 or Bostick "six oh nine" in the boards. Bostick is in El Cajon so that might be a lil closer to you
