Maybe you guys can offer some thoughts on my jet, I've had some time to experiment with my jet set up.
Here's my set up now:
Stock JB intake with sport style loader
Aggessor 9 vane bowl with stuffer
AA Impeller
Place Diverter HP Steering Nozzle
New Place Diverter
I ran 88mph with a stock steering nozzle, 86mph with Place Diverter full droop (Too loose, had to constantly work the steering wheel to keep it straight) and 85mph with the PD HP Steering nozzle. All GPS runs were done on the same stretch of river in the same direction around the same time of day as well.
I know 3 mph could be anything and I'm going to stay with this set up. However, I do want to fine tune this. As I understand it my BBC 468 makes peak HP around 6100rpm. I'm running closer to 5100rpm.
The boat felt quickest with the stock steering nozzle. The difference I see is it closes down more abruptly than the HP nozzle. I thought about a nozzle insert. I didn't know about the FTN option when I bought the place diverter. Is it a different place diverter? Can I get the inserts and try them in mine? I'm not sure I want to go there as I don't think it will make a significant change.
I'm looking to push this into the low 90's. I'm going from 9psi to 12psi on my Procharger. This will help a little. What would be the change if I went with a different impeller cut? Can I get this to run quicker and faster?
I have an idea about a ride plate that starts at the transom. I'm not going to change the intake until next year. How long is a typical ride plate on a Rogers extend past the transom? Maybe 12"?
