Be careful mixing greases..
To get the "bad" grease gun to work simply put it upside down and thump it a few times on the ground, if concrete use a block of wood...
BTW "RED" don't mean squat. It is just dye...

Exactly, save for the lithium variety. Berk states whatever 90W in the bowl, and on those I've stuck with Lucas. Out of the 7 or so jet boats that have passed through my hands, 2 were set up with zerks for grease. Moo being one. In those bowls, I used Pennzoil 302 Multi pupose stuff. Only reason, noone knew what SHOULD be in there, and it's what pops used religiously on the backhoes, trackhoes, trenchers, etc. But on wheel bearings, or anything else high speed, dad always used Pennzoil 707 (Pricey, same "red" color you're talking about, but that means nothing, really). Always had cases of both on a job site and 2 grease guns.
Second, replace the zerk fittings in your bearing buddies. Probably just those.
