As the title says what the hell is this on my pump shaft, i'm replacing my bowl gasket and this stuff is all wrapped up init.. Its like a cross between sea grass and fishing line..

Oh for sure... Once that HP leaks from the shaft you are screwed. It will leak every where and eventually you will end up replacing you header bearings. Big coin
