www.jetboatperformance.com or Place Diverter. I have the steering wheel control but mounted it next to the forward/reverse handle so I wouldnt have to worry about the cord getting tangled. Works great for me.

They wrap pretty flawlessly around the steering when turning. I personally would prefer it on the dash or a manual on the floor for the reason mentioned by Jimbo. Of the two friends that have theirs on the steering wheel.... I haven't heard any complaints about the cord getting tangled.

I don't think you could ever get the cord tangled as the wheel doesn't go all the way around much, certainly not 5 or 6 times like a car.  Sometimes it is hard to remember which button is up/down when the whole switch is upside down and the lettering is worn off too.

I liked my old one on the dash, thought it was inconvenient until I drove my friends with the control on the steering wheel. Although the steering wheel mount is nice in really rough water.

I've got a Radio Shack toggle switch on the steering wheel with the curly cord.    No problems with the cord getting tangled.

Move the switch to the side in front of the shifter. Just sit in the boat, let your arm rest on the gunwale where it normally does when you drive, and mount the switch right where your finger tips end up. Its handy and out of the way too. I don't like the wheel mount because if the wind is from the side, you have to steer into it and the button is not where it usually is. With it on the side, its allways in the same place, much cheaper than the curly cord thing too. TIMINATOR

here's an example.  The shifter is dropped all the way down to keep it out of the way.  "Normal" position moves from 10 o'clock to 2 (this gets it completely out of the way for longer cruises)

Thanks Tom for 2 reasons!!     I'm going to do a dry run mock up of the dash today and take some photos.  I'll post later.  Maybe I better start my own thread where I can just post the stuff I've done so far.

What do you guys get for the wheel mounted switches? I am kinda leaning that way now. Thanks for all the info guys       Mark

I got mine at Place. Though now I'm debating if I am going to mount it on the wheel. I'm thinking the dash would be better.
