Does anyone have any photos of how they ran the hydraulic lines from the diverter to the transom?  Tks

From the resivor(sp) I just drilled 2 holes in the transon and ran them to the diverter. Boat is in winter storage but I will try to get pictures up. I'm sure somebody has some.

I'm trying to figure out the best place to drill the holes in the transom so they don't look like everything was an after thought.  I was thinking something like this and then had second thoughts due to the forward/reverse cable.



Then thought it might look better if laid out like the dump fittings and went here.

Not saying its good or bad -- just that it works.  Mine exits appx. above the R in Berkley and flow a perfect S down to the arms on the right side of the pump.  Because of swim step, it can't arc up high like your other cable.  Several tie-wraps along the way for sure.

Did you use those plastic fittings that Place Diverter sends?  For the cost of the diverter they could have at least sent something  made of metal, some plastic crap.

I think the parts I received came for a drip system for the garden.

I guess that would work but I'm going to get rid of the drip system tubing and fittings.

Well, today the weather is nice so I got busy and installed the Place Diverter hydraulic lines.  They may not be right btu they look a lot better than nothing being attached to the ram, so here's what I came up with.  They are the small black tubing lines.  They may be a little long so if you got any suggestions, feel free to offer them up.  I'll be changing them out for stainless braided lines later on.





Nothing better than the feel of Spring in the air to get you motivated.

Thanks Forkedup.  Tomorrow I hope to install the pumping mechanism and see if it works.  If it does, then I'll run the wiring to the dash.  But before I can do that, I've got a lot of carpet glue to remove.  This poor boat was never meant to have some owners that have had it in the past.  I've got to take some more photos so when I do the project thread, like Jork (John) did, I've got a complete story to tell.  So far there hasn't been one thing that I haven't had to touch for some sort of repair or replacement.

Hey 2Sav,  I'm doing this all by the seat of my pants.  The instructions that came from PD suck!  and don't ask them anything as they have the poorest tech/customer service I've run into in a long time.  So by looking at other's installations and asking questions, I did it the way it's shown on the out side in that boat with the black jet pump.  I did hit a hard spot in the transom housing and the drill bit walked a little on me but that's ok.  All in all, so far I'm happy with how the exterior tubing hooked up and it doesn't look all that bad.  Now for the inside.  I'll clean off the crap that's on the transom, install the mounting (plastic crap) bracket and slip the pump in.  I've heard stories of the pump bouncing around and spilling ATF all over so I'm going to use something like a bungy cord to strap it in place.  Photos will be taken and displayed.

The hyd pump on my boat was installed into a plastic battery box designed to completely incase the battery. The battery case is covered with oil film on the inside and the oil stays out of the interior. Not to mention the fact that the pump itself is kind of ugly. My battery is also installed in the same type of battery box so it just looks like I have two batteries in battery boxes.

That sounds like a good idea.  I guess I'll run down to Auto Zone and see what they might have.  Thanks
