I removed the je from my carlson cvx 20 , it was not epoxied or ever had been. It had a rubber feeling caulk between the hull and suction housing and it was a pain in the ass to remove. The je I bought from a guy here on scjb forum was epoxied (shit ,it still had part of the boat on it when it got here ,removed with a skill saw I think and took 4hrs to clean off with assorted air tools).I'm thinking buying a boat with a epoxied je removed from it would be buying a boat with alot of hull damage to repair.Check your boat and see if the je that came with your boat, came out of your boat. If your hull looks like the pump was removed with a chopping axe,it was epoxied, if it will clean up with some elbow grease and a putty knife it was bolted and caulked. I'm going to use PAR clear sealent to install my je.It will dry clear and will stick to air tho its also hell to remove but tough as hell. My thinking on this is ,put it back the way it came out.
