Jetovator cable
« on: May 28, 2013, 08:16:01 PM »
I am in need of a new cable. My pump is a Berkley 12je and my control says place diverter. I am not sure which cable I need. Is this a place diverter or a jetovator and which cable do I need. The boat is a 1978 Caribbean that is 21ft long with a 460 Ford. Does the cable say what it is on it any where also does it say the length? Thanks for the help

Post a pic of your pump. If its a place cable, lay it on the ground and measure tip to tip. They come in full foot lengths. I have a 13' in my boat that I just bought new from Tom @ jet boat performance. Get the red cable if its a place.

I don't think it's a red cable anymore is it? Because that was a morse cable...and I believe teleflex bought morse...if they still sell the red one I'm gonna be bummed I replaced mine when jack at Mpd did the pump  a few years ago now and he said there was no more morse cables 😔

Sorry to get off topic, there should be some stamping or something like letters on the cabling which would identify it

It is going to be a 4300 series cable, could be a 4300CC or a 4300BC, B denotes a bulkhead end and the C denotes clamp

So if it has a threaded trunnion on one end, it will be a BC, if it has the funky grooved clamps on both ends it is a C

As for the length, measure from clamp to clamp, it is normally stamped into the jacket somewhere.

I'm assuming this is a "Place Diverter" and not the gimble operated JF trim from Berk. If it is, it'll be a 4300BC (Same as all place units) and measure the sheath length to replace. There is no bulkhead end, but it utilizes that on the bracket on the diverter.

Had a couple Place units on JE's before....   ;)

Some of the droop mounted Place Diverters use a CC...  See seen it before...  ;D They will use the low profile steering bracket like the old butt bucket nozzles had, it is Stupid rare. And only on the old style nozzle.

Chances are, it is a BC and probably 16' long....  ;)

Not too many peeps were as crazy as me and tried to put on a split bowl that could use a droop on a JE/JF.............So YEAH has to be rarer than gettin' a blowjob in the Oval Office......

It does have the clamps on both ends and is black cable I don't see any numbers on it. Here is a picture I already took the cable out.
