I sucked a ski rope into the pump putting my boat on the trailer yesterday.  So is there a big problem if I was unable to get all the rope out?  It is cut all the way thru on one side but the top/engine side of the shaft still has about 5 "wraps" still stuck in it.  It will turn over easily again...  but I was wondering if running it will hurt anything.  I thought that it might melt the remaining rope a little if it was running,  I noticed that some of the rope melted before it stopped the motor from cranking.  Or is there another way to get it out?

My hand is pretty scraped up from squeezing in from the top and from underneath thru the loader grate.  I'll try and get a pic of what's left tomorrow, but baring some small vise grips that will fit into the hand hole in the top, I dont know how to get more out.

Brads right "all"of it Unfortunatley whats on the intake/suction side may very well be only part of it (wrapped around the shaft etc)  I recommend you plan on takeing the bowl off  Tom

We don't use lock tite (you'll hate it next time you remove it)  we do however use clear silicone on the "mating surfaces" and on the bolt threads .We also like counter sunk stainless allen heads and really like to see you folks "overdrill" tap to 5/16 and also "thru bolt' with any type of non stock /loader type intake  Thanks Tom
