If we meet at 9am we will already have the sunken treasure rescued by the time you get off work!

Guys, you started this thread on September 4th, it's now the 21st of October.  Get some beer, 4 good size towable tubes, some heavy duty tow rope, and as many STRONG strapin lads you can get, and get your butts up there, and salvage it!  Don't make me come out there. LMAO  I'm lookin forward to your success.  Hurry up, winter is setting in.   R/C

PS: what's the distance from where it's resting, to the ramp or where your taking it out?

Come on out, we could use another tow boat!  :D  From what I hear about a mile from the ramp to the boat.

We could use some spray foam and or 3 bilge plugs. I have a bilge pump and a battery, need some 3/4 ID hose. At the time I found it I think it could have been simply rolled over into the water and be afloat. The water level has come up 3 or 4 feet since then. We can hug the shoreline most of the way to the ramp, maybe a mile, one spot will be over 100ft deep.

Man, I would love nothing more!  That would be a blast.  But, unfortunately, not a option for me.  I don't think that foam will work under water, without air, will it?  I was under the impression that, air was the catalyst for the foam.  My thoughts for the towable tubes, was to rig a sling, using 2 tubes across front and 2 in rear, secured to the deck cleats, or anything to keep the sling from shifting.  Using the tow ropes, will let two guys pull back and forth under the bow, to use as a sling, same with stern.  We've salvaged a couple small boat, that were in 6' waters, this way.  It went pretty smooth, rednecks. LOL.   I'm just thinking out loud, not meaning to butt in.  Just a thought.

soooooo........just how are we going to get this thing off the lake (trailer) and exactly where are we going to put it?

i thought these details were ironed out, but i just talked to terry and he said its all still up in the air.

last thing i think any of us want to do is get this thing flipped over and towed to the ramp then have to leave it for someone else to take home after we did all the work.

The general idea was that we were going to throw it on terrys trailer take it over to his house and off the trailer and go back for his boat.

If we can find a trailer for sale(cheap) or borrow one, I have a storage business that will let me keep it there(free of charge) until more permanent arragements are made.

If a trailer is not an option I can bring it to the storage place and place it on stands/tires in an inside storage unit (10x20 or 10x30) unit

Ok, just confirmed...I have a 10x20 inside unit it will fit into(without trailer) for temp storage until a trailer can be found

is the storage unit's door wide enough to get the trailer in there? i just got a 10x25 unit....and the damn door is only 7.5' wide  :banghead: although i didnt need the storage unit for my boat, it would have been nice for that option.

and does anyone have some old tires to throw this thing on?
