What were you doing taking pics from across the lake

I know its a hard concept for you to understand, but "I am on a Boat" 

Just a borrowed boat! Needed a lake day and everyone being there made it a great day! I dropped in at Callville bay and did the 26 miles to Temple Bar Marina across the lake, and with the conditions it was awesome!

We left Temple Bar at 6pm  and hauled ass back to Callville (Boat has lights) and the water was so flat it was insane. Got back just as it got really dark.

i will be there next time

I will hold you to that statement! Do your boat the way YOU want it and lets get it on the water!

I think we had eight boats. Should  be tons of pics commin. Yea, we had the hotel, bar, ramp and beaches to ourselves. We had all the boats and trucks right out side our rooms at the hotel, just threw out the BBQ's right there in the parking lot and partied down. No body said shit to us, hell we're on a first name basis with half the staff out there now.

what happened to the boat to let all the water in? that bilge pump was new last May. Sounds like I missed a good time, I got to stay home and play in my little mud puddle of a lake, on a good note, the Hallett really like the droop and new intake setup, I'm creeping up on the 80MPH mark.......

 I noticed you only had a 20 sec video and i noticed you had a 3:35 minute vid on a fish  WTF 

  What a fun trip. Near disaster a couple of times. We just got back in and unloaded. pics uploading now. Didn't get any of the near sinking of the Udder one, nor me nearly running over crewcheifs boat. Newbies  (I apologize for that!, wasn't intentional rookie mistake, quick thinking on the part of Mrs Crewcheif on the starter and throttle tho).
 
We first got there friday and dropped in the boat, Nordie was having header problems, and so I just tooled around the marina a bit before dark. Pulled out and we all took pics and BSed, was great. Took off the next morning and once out of the marina, immediately knew I had a hot rod on my hands. Scared the living death out of my kids, didn't help that a water line from the outlet came off the header T and nearly sank the boat. (No joke, it was DEEP, much deeper than Josh's issue!), barely made it to a rocky outcropping to shut it down and find the problem. I forgot to tighten 1 hose clamp  . Oh well, coulda been worse. Blued the crap out of brand new headers tho. And did worse to them, (Will post pics later I took before we left Temple bar today.)

I thnk Chromey and Mrs Crewcheif took the bulk of the pics. I left the kids in charge, and that took convinceing to get them back in the boat with me, so not many on my part 

Then we noticed the water outlet cover leaking, but not much, just enough to fill up the little pocket where the dipstick goes and milkshake the oil. Ran it a little more, then  my daughter had to pee, so went back to the marina and it was getting worse. Needed to change out the Break-in oil anyway, had been about an hour and a half of run time, so due anyway. The Boat shop there had it's second SCJB customer in pumping out the oil, and the guys made me a free gasket for the outlet that I put on while they changed out the oil and put in the Hot Rod oil. Took then a good hour to find a filter to fit, but everyone at that marina was fantastic!.

Went back around the motel to find Nordie working on his bilge pump, then I took my son and dropped in and hot rodded around a bit. (Not nearly as hard as I hit it the first time). I think I may have a contender. Crewcheif brought his timing light, and I never felt the need to use it, boat ran fine at 10 degrees initial timing I set it at. I did move it by eyeball about 2 degrees more later on Sunday, but ran fine, other than some minor carb tuning issues. she's ready to go!

Then the headers start leaking. Wasn't much, and I ran it all day Sunday that way anyhow. I figured I cracked them, but then I took pics this morning and see that I actually burned holes in the bottoms of the tubes before the water injection bungs on all eight of them. Perplexing, but could well be running WAYYYY to rich. On go my older, and a tad rusty, bassett's with baffles and someone to look at the carb.  We'll weld up the Rewarders and maybe have them rechromed.

Thanks everyone. You helped me build it, and helped me get used to it! My kids ran with me in it this morning before we left, IT WAS COLD at 8 am!

Now to get it fully ready to ante up to my bet about the bull horns! I'll let the victim explain that!
