Fathers Day * JUNE 19 -21*

Big River is the spot . The Big River Inn is literally spitting distance from the ramp and if your lucky enough to get a room on the butte you get a bitchen view of the river and a lwan , but I for one like to walk around bare foot in my room so I'll be at either the Bridge Inn or the Best Western in Parker , we'll see . Bring a t really good anchor or a big fukin rock . There is a current along the shore . That is an absolute must , dont even for half a second think your gonna get away with one of those folding triangle lookin things . Forget it ! Or bring a big fukin rock .

I'm not going to bother with starting a list , since those always change and no one can keep track .

I'll try and post whatever pictures I got . See you guys there .

.....check the Mead threads, flat as a pancake and not another boat in sight. Been on Mead and Mochoppy when it's rough and the only time the ole lady ever said "turn around" was at Parker.

We got a big ass house in a culdasac, all are welcome. Two rooms empty w/ bath between. Lots of cheap rooms around and Buffets.

I'd rather fight the river instead of fighting 3' genuine swells

Even the 60 somethin foot houseboat we in was doin some serious rockin and a rollin out of Callville Bay . Make no mistake about it , Mead is one of the best places to go . When I made a decission to drop my wife off on a beach because I was absolutly sure I was going down on my way into Callvile just to get gas . The boat we were towing had to be left at the beach aslo because as I went through the swell , literally , a foot of water was going over the bow .

That weekend it wasnt crowded , not a holiday weekend , just one day where the wind picked up a little and I genuinely was fearing for my life as the swells were higher than my bimini and breaking over my carb and headers . I was litterally surfing into Callville Bay .

Of course on sunday we retreated back beyond the Narrows and weathered the rest of the day there with no so much as an ounce of wind . Sunday there wasnt a soul out there and it was smooth as glass all the way into the bay . I have found a new respect for Mead . Turbo350r was there with us and he'll tell you the same . Besides , does anyone remeber these . huh .

Ok, so Mead does get windy, in spots. What about a trip up to the Delta? Lake Nacimiento? There's tons of places to go, Mead just seems fairly central

I'm down with mead and have tried to get people to go for a few years with no luck untill recentlty of course .

This is where I've spend a few June summer days and couldn't imagine being anywhere else . Smooth water all day is what I'm talkin about here .

Ive been yo big river once for fathers day so I dont know this to be fact but dont they usually have a goog gathering of old boats and cars? The rivers a bit narrow but its a fun place! Im still a fan of martinez/fishers. Ive always wanted to take my old man out for fathers day!

Thats where I was staying. big river rv park. Ive only been there a couple times a few years back! seemed like a fun place! Im gunna try and take my pops for fathers day. Try and get my uncle ron and his son to go as well. My dad hasnr been to the river for a long time. I think he would enjoy it this time. he wont have a truck or boat to worry about. or a bunch of kids for that matter.

The RV park is has been a private park for about 2 years now so you'll have to launch at the "Dock" down river .

YA I STILL HAVE A BOAT TO FINISH TOO.

HOW IS THAT SECTION OF THE RIVER??? I HAVN'T BEEN THERE IN A LOOONG TIME. USUALLY JUST GO TO THE STRIP..(ECHO LODGE OR BLUE WATER).

MEAD IS GOOD FOR NON BUSY WEEKEND, WHICH IS USUALLY WHEN I CAN GO OUT. OTHER THAN THAT.... NO THANKS

My vote is for lower river somewhere. martinez,big river somewhere in between. just me though. Its 2 weeks before my sisters wedding so I have to get me and the old man away without mom finding out and killing us both!

I've never had to fight 3' rollers and wakes coming over my bow at big River but it looks like I might not make this trip either.

Last time I was out there , this is as busy as it got .
