Because this is a good truck engine not a marine engine, Peanut ports, just found out cast pistons, bearings look good but didnt check clearance.........

Soooo.......... i can sell this engine almost complete and build one that i know will fit the application for my boat.. And this way i know, not what someone told me................LIE'S....

Was supposed to be large port heads..........NOT!!
Was supposed to be Hypers or Forged pistons.......NOT!!

My options....get some keith Black 020 Hypers with dome tops, balance and swap out the pistons.
get my other set of heads worked and get it back in the boat

OR .......SELL IT ALL...................... and start over

Hey 2sav,
Im not good with V-8 stuff, but what type of motor is that? BBC, BBF, Olds. Im looking for a reliable Olds motor. The motor in my new boat, was supposed to be rebuilt about 2 yrs ago, and dealing with the same things you are LIES...

. So now im looking for a rebuilt reliable motor that will start and run for yrs to come. I just want to use the boat for pleasure and some skiing, i cant afford to go to damn fast

Its for a BBC

If your looking for longevity and not so much speed pretty much any engine will give you that, as long as you treat it right.......

is it worth just changing everything over to BBC insted of trying to find a 455. it seems that there are more 454 out there. so if i went that route i would need logs, snails, and mounts, and a new u-joint piece.
