I have a delco trim (raises and lowers snout) that is electrically operated with a three way switch (up/off/down). It uses a motor to drive a rack/gear to move cable and thus the snout.  There is a wire off the motor that may be the feedback for position (?).  Any body have any manufacturer info on these or how they are wired?
Who/where is gc@tom or whomever you mention might be able to help me out with parts (above posts) .  Fwiw I have a straight snout (not a drop) and it likes level or down to get up on plane quickly, and at speed anything short of level or down makes the bow bounce too much for my fried backbone. Is that common?

Dirga dirga

My 79 Tahiti (20.5ft) 454 bbc/Berk has a trim indicator (not functional) mounted on the dash.  Anybody run one of these or have a good reason to (?) or do you just  watch the rooster and how the boat handles?  It looks like it ran a single wire down to the trim adjuster. Next time I get ambitious I will play with a voltmeter and see if there is a signal still, maybe p/o just disconnected it.

Since this is my first jet, I have ALOT to learn.
 

fantastic little camera IMO.  The AVI files generated are a PITA if you are on windows, if you have a MAC you will quickly be making GREAT home movies of your trips.
ONLY use the battery type recommended, and memorize the blinking light pattern or you may end up with stills instead of video feed.

fwiw, we walk it back on the trailer with ropes as it works everytime as compared with me low speed steering skills (not).

Blythe aint tha far for me, only anothe 1.5 hrs compared to the lake.

I was looking at google earth and the river looks shallow? any decent maps for the newbie out there for downloading for boating?

fwiw- my tahiti has a rudder on a berkeley, prior owner (has had many jet boats) said it improved low speed directionality on this boat.  Since I did not take it off I dont know the difference.

Regarding the mounting, waht kind of mounting screws do you use (drilling into hull...yikes).
Wood screws? or thru bolt/nuts?

buy from Overtons or have local tempe shop make one? Install vertically (the mounts) or on the horizontal? about 6 ft long? 3 or 4 bow? How high?

Anybody here is AZ inetersted in goingthru this beast with me to make sure everything is tip top before I go for an extended cruise. Being a newbie I am still trying to read here on what to look at and check.
It has two water temp gages and runs about 140 at temp on both. STill havenot found the water valves to adjust but prior owner says 140 is good. (??)
Next on my list is a decent tach.

Being an Az guy, I mainly have been on local lakes like Apache, Pleasant, Canyon, Saguaro, bartlett and Roosevelt. Leaving the depraved life I have lead somehow  I have never been to the Colorado.
 I see on Google earth "big River" and some of the other places mentioned here for popular floats, but was looking for advice on a good place for a newbie to go ? Last thkng I want to do off the bat on our first river trip is run aground or suck some rocks or plain go to a low tide place which sucks.  I will be shaking down my new to me boat over the next few weekends on lakes around here close by to get more familiar first, but the wifey says when are we going to "the river" ?
