Im not all that concerned about fuel usage as much as tunning. I just hear horror storys about T/Rs but Im pretty much set on the looks of running one. Im hoping to be able to use this setup instead of re-buying carbs. These carbs also need rebuilt.. Might be a pain to order a rebuild kit without the CFM.. 

Take the carbs to the shop. They can figure it out, I'm sure. I think Fuel Curve West is near you. They can even probably 99% dial the carbs if you have all the stats on your engine. Still gonna be cheaper than buying new or buying used then rebuilding those...........T/R's can and will run great! Many of us run them, and once dialed, really as problem free as any single carb setup.

I was not gonna open up my preference for vac sec'y carbs in this instance, but truly, unless its a full out race application, you are far better off that way.  Post some pics of the carbs up.

Soooooo   I'm driving home from work. Been a bad week, picked up an unknown virus on the home PC's giving a fake "Blue Screen of Death" , forcing buying a new desktop until my Nerd can sort it all out (been on it two days...........) Anyway..........

Becca calls me, seems she and her girlfriends found a stray dog and want me to help. I wish I could post pics of the, well, probably 120 or so pound guy, but again, the computers.......They walked the 'hood, noone knows the dog or owner, I get home, take it to the vet to make sure MY dogs don't get rabies or some sort of strange viral canine syphillis or something from this thing, and to check it for a chip, and I, bringing the dog, Becca, her friend and a friends daughter staying with us right now, tell them, "there's no freaking way I'm keeping this thing, no matter what, got a house full of guests I'm helping out, another dog is OUT OF THE QUESTION!!!!!"

You know what happens next..........Becca cries, her friends cry..........I get home I'm so mad I can't see straight and damn near crying over THAT!

So, What the Vet tells me, no Chip, GREAT! I think!!!! Wonderful! FOCK!  Full Blooded Basset Hound, Cute as hell, I gotta admit,
and growing on me as we speak. 3 years old at the most, not neutered, and perfect as far as coloring and demeanor! I mean extremely friendly thing and the cutest howl ever!

So I bring him and the girls back home. Tell Becca to tie him to the Pickle Boat's trailer in the driveway until 10 when they go to bed. Then, both my dogs, and my house guests 4 dogs are in bed and then you can put him in the backyard til we can deal with it tomorrow.

Tears flow...............so to shorten this story, here I am, at 11 at night, everyone else asleep, gotta get up at 2:30, new laptop in hand with a strange, but adoreable Basset Hound sound asleep with the cutest snore at my feet in MY BED!!!!!! (Never allowed that even with Moo and Ruger)

I think I'm gonna name him "Rooster".............But don't tell the kids, I'm supposed to be the prick in this....................Focker needs a bath............or is it me?............. Maybe the original owner will come forth and save my ass............

I'm with everyone on the .40 . Love my 10mm's, probably the best perp stopper ever made, and makes my .45 almost a toy by comparison. But I hafta handload it these days. The .40 came about from S&W developing their 10mm's for the FBI. FBI wanted a LOT less than what that 10mm was delivering. My PT99 Stainless Taurus is completely convertible from .22 LR to 9mm to .40 S&W and .357 SIG. Like that gun alot! (Beretta frames were made by Taurus for a number of years, so they learned a few things).  RJ loved it when he was smaller in 22, then with a compensated 9mm upper,  now uses it in .40 quite a bit. Don't really see what the hype is on the .357 SIG, but it is a bit more accurate at longer ranges, say 75 yards, but does not have the knockdown power of the .40 at the same range.

I don't see where the .40 is less plentiful for ammo than the 9mm? Maybe surplus ammo, but I wouldn't be running that cheap crap through anything but an old beat up Mac 10 or HiPower or something. Unless you really enjoy completely tearing down your guns to the last pin/screw and cleaning for hours......

Personally, I carry one of my .45's or 10mm's regularly. 

 Depending on what 9mm you buy Marc, you should be able to easily and cheaply find a .40 S&W upper for it. Then all you need is the magazines to convert back and forth, but were I doing it, I'd buy the .40 version, then shop Gunbroker or other places for the 9mm upper parts for what you buy. Far easier and plentiful to find those! And there are .22 kits available through Ceiner etc for like the Beretta and Taurus. I doubt you'll find a "Pistol Pac" like I have from Taurus, but it can be duplicated with other parts readily available out there  on many guns, the Beretta and Glock included
