on #2, if you need alt mounts, hafta dig, but picked up a few sets of polished SS SCJ lo-mounts a guy makes quite a while back. Great stuff. Was like a buck or so each. I'll see if I still have his info for ya.

on #3 STD wiring and color coding is all over this site, and much simpler than you'd think bro! 

#4, well, worse comes to worse, a ski rope over each shoulder tied to either side of the nozzle CAN steer the thing..........

#6  Float?  It should FLY! Wood floats, a styrofoam cup floats, oil floats, dead bodies and ex-wives float, I've even taken dumps that float! It takes no work at all to do any of these things and just "float", so why just that after so much work on the boat?

well thanks ray that was how I was going to do it but wasent sure and my 3pt mounts are still good to and i to have an old 460 block lol I don't no why but now I do thanks for all the input.

      That's what we do for each other around here.    I can't take credit for the idea though. It was a combination of input from Ralph Brunt, HDRider and Rivertard that conceived the idea. I need to clarify that the measurements I took from the oil pan to the stringers and oil pan rail to the floor were on the REAR of the engine. Common sense, but still should have been stated.

When I did this last month, and I would insist you do the same, was to get and install new U-Joints on the driveline. (Tom at JBP is always a good bet for the good joints). Change the joints first and look for even wear on all your old needle bearings, caps, trunions etc. If pretty good, then you know the angles that the engine was originally set at in relation to the pump was spot on, and you should get 30+ years of service from the new joints, GTG then.

Price/cost to me to get it all to Ohio is minimal. Got Storage lined up, and a place/help to build it (it WILL come completely apart).  Since my Mom will now Summer Only back there, might make some sense to build one I can use to hang with RiverRoy and the boyz and show the East Coast once in a while how we roll on the West Coast with these things! 

Was thinking to just drag Pickle back there and store it for that very purpose, since pops died and all this came about, but I don't think Pickle has anywhere near the value that it has here being completely original. Also understand that Mom is the only one of my East Coast relatives who did not bat an eye and jumped right in Moo, and then refused to give up her seat for anyone else to get a ride. Pops wouldn't even get in it once he heard it fire up! She's a little jet boat nut now! Gotta love the old broad! 

Soo now I'm thinking sell Pickle, build that one (which needs a TON of work, much hidden I'm quite sure, no original engine hatch and don't even get me started on the  Messican Honda Seats) or another I find back there. I got time. Sent one offer and stand behind that.  Good thing, for you, is I like my Sleeks and I don't have a 19 footer!    Not slamming your ride, but theres a large 4 digit bill involved building a proper interior for that, and cant tell without a hammer and a drill where the 1/4 stringers are in condition. Originality has no real function in it as far as I can tell in that market.

PS: If RiverRoy had brain cell one left, he'd abandon his Baja project and be ALLL over this! This is a PHX built boat, and probably one of the most versatile and fun hull designs out there!

Oh I'm fine with this, and it's great! Don't get me wrong. Any chance to hang with the crew is a good day! 2.5 hours from Vegas though Brad? REALLY? Use your TRUCK to tow the boat, not someones Prius..........It's 3.5 hours to Parker from PHX and yes 5 hours to TB. A trip worth the drive. So is Parker.

I was only pointing out, and I think Marc, Chromie, Nordie and I are the only ones to make both TB trips, hence the only ones with a valid opinion. Tradition has it's place and many memories were made these last 2 years. My kids love that place. Crewcheifs daughter, I think, had a good time, and theres something else to be said for the so-called "sour" bartender who drove home and brought us back her personal BBQ utensils and supplies last year for the parking lot BBQ. It could only go smoother from here, but that's me. Lack of planning and communication on OUR part I think was to blame on the bar issue.

If I want a craps, poker or blackjack table, I can drive 15 minutes to one from nearly anywhere, anytime in AZ. This is all about us and boating.

As far as amenities, most of you camped IN THE DIRT at Mcintyre last year, and beleive me, amenities there are far fewer than at TB! Somewhat closer access to more, granted. I just don't get that gripe. Gas prices in Blythe are not that unlike TB. WAY above AZ prices, and how many bars, if Tony did NOT have the trailer, were at Mcintyre?

Did ANYONE NOT have a good time at TB?   

I will still make TB this year, and will as much as possible. I think the twin jet has a good chance to make the entrance to the Grand Canyon from there and back and we're gonna try it at least once when the boat is done.  I will make this trip, but I think it needs to be another separate trip in early April and my .02, TB needs to remain.

First off, and foremost, I want to point out that Nordie is my "brother from another mother"  and my kids call him "Uncle Nordie". He IS my little brother, and we are very close friends.

That being said, he and I had a rather heated text exchange and conversation about the change of venue a couple months ago. Nordie will confirm this. I thought it would drop then. BUT, Nordie does have a good idea and intentions, don't get me wrong!

The Temple Bar trip is significant, though only 2 years old, for a couple reasons. 1, the one that started the whole crazy idea, has NEVER attended.......I will not name names, but do the initials LuckyStiff ring a bell to anyone?    It was the innaugural voyage of Moo, important to me only I know, but I busted my ASS for 45 days or so to get it ready to make this trip, and am doing the same thing with the same boat for the same reason this year. 

The first year for it, was obviously my, and my kids, first experience jet boating. AND meeting Nordie and many close friends from this site (Remember HDRider's comment "who the phuck would paint a boat like that?" LMAO ). Back then Nordie was one scarey lookin dude! But my kids instantly loved him, as did I, and rightfully so. 2, Last year, I think we had as many boats, not the same crew, but some drove like 10 hours to do this! (Aquaholic and AlamoJimmy).  Christ, B-rad even made this one!

Weather wasn't kind to us last year. And the bar thing was fixed rather quickly and easily, and handily as I recall, sooooooo. All we need to do is make SURE Bob has it all set up. The weather's gonna be what it's gonna be, whether Parker or Temple Bar.............

I agree, no real need for it, but I happen to have a use for one if youre looking to pawn it off. 

What it's really for is extreme applications and those not using an electical system (Alternator) as they are self charged. Incredible amount of spark power, but require a lot of starting speed to get them going.

I seem to remember a show on one of Jay Leno's old cars that started on a normal points dizzy, then you switch it to a mag from the drivers seat once it started.

As much as I wanted to, and pushed to, I'm out on this.

We're all dissapointed, but with the expenses, and vacation time spent, incurred with the passing of my dad, it's just not possible. (And thank you all from the site for your support! Riverroy, just got your message yesterday, sorry I missed that while I was back east!)

I DO require lots of pictures! We all SOOO looked forward to this. Moo's new engine is still hanging from the cherry picker. and we had plane tickets in hand for pops to go with me on this one!
