We threw the boat in the water for the first time today to make sure it floats before our big event next weekend. Didnt want to tow it all that way only to have it not run.
The old girl lit at the touch of the switch. It was a fun (and proud) moment to watch my son hit the water with his own ride bought and paid for by his hard work.
It took him a while to figure the ride/cavplate/diverter setup but soon began to get a better understanding of it and made it work really well.
He got it to 5200 rpm and it was very happy at that speed and rode great with just a touch of down pedal once in awhile.

First off, let me say thank you to all of you guys for helping me get this damn thing done... one week before mardon! It is much appreciated. The boat ran, well... perfect. If "boring" could be used as a good term, this would be where is applies. Right off the trailer, it ran very very well. I believe i got my moneys worth out of the boat today alone. I have very little into it, and the results far exceeded my expectations. Its no drag boat, but its fast enough to scare me a bit! The cavitation plates are a trip! They completely change the attitude of the boat, from nose high, to bow dragging at the same rpm and diverter input. it'll take awhile to perfect, but i made a big improvement in just the ammount of time running the boat today! I cannot wait for mardon now! yahoo! Thanks again!
