But looks like you're on the right track by gutting it and just goin in balls deep!

From the engine, looks like a good foundation, although that tunnel ram I don't think I've seen before. 

I wouldn't worry about the whole split bowl thing. Seen PLENTY of non split bowls run very hard and toss out a monster roost.  Just need a Place Diverter is all.

Anyways, yeah, PD unit for the JE goes on like a snap! Did mine in like 60 minutes or so, including drilling the transom for the cable.

I was looking at the fiberglass "pod' in the center of the bottom boat, seems to fit the upper boat, but that wakeboard tower and bimini are FOCKED UP!

Could be both and a loading accident I suppose, lol

The big difference is that the jetovator does trim before steer, and the place does the steer before trim (from front to back). I believe the jetovator linkage is much more complex than stock because of this.

100% correct. My running boats both have Place diverters on them, I have 2 Jetovators here that came with the Shrimpin boat project. There has been a lot of grinding done to the Berk Jetovators, none on my PD's, but these things look to me as if they'd throw a MUCH higher roost than my PD units.

Doesn't really look any more complicated than the PD unit, IMO, just different, in manual configuration. Hydraulic PD unit compared to these Electric Jetovators? Oh Hell Yeah! HUGE difference! Very complex how these work compared to a simple Hydraulic PD unit, which is why mines getting 2 PD units over these Jetovators. Don't need that complex, X2, on this deal. Gonna be bad enough with hydraulic trim tabs as well.

On a single jet, I'd be comfortable with either, in manual configuration. (Actually they are the same, the only difference is in manual the cable goes to a control handle and the electric the same cable goes to this power window motor operated 'cider press' dealio)

You can put the jetovator on your E pump, but the bowl need to be removed and rotated 90 degrees for it. SAme with the C and F pumps. Only necessary to remove and rotate the nozzle adaptor on the others. Not necessary on the Place Diverter units.

Got the 850 covered,  But honestly, I'd give the tunnel the benefit of the doubt, get some help tuning it, I think you'll be happier both in top end performance and cool factor.

Someone will chime in and contradict that, and no doubt in MY MIND, a single larger carb on w/ good single plane is the best for across the board RPM useage and response. Can even rival the tunnel in top end performance in some cases, but have to be matched and tuned VERY well. (As does any multi carb T/R dealio).

In my limited experience, I find I use all my boats in 5 basic modes. Reverse, idle, maybe 1200 RPM or so in the NWZ, 3500 to cruise with, rarely, and WFO! (Most of the time in open water). Throttle response has little to nothing to do with any of those modes! Unless racing, etc, etc. I'm talking real world, day to day useage. Read my plugs many times with and without the T/R on Moo, and MUCH more even and uniform with it than before it.

Same arguments I've made clear about vacuum vs mechanical secondaries. On the whitewater, circle racing, or fast moving rivers where you're on and off the throttle, steering, trimming, all at the same time, OK, I get it. Milliseconds make seconds. BUT on the lakes or the Colorado? Be hard pressed to show me any appreciable difference. Just my opinion.
