my story is very similar to most, grew up going to temple bar five or six times a year and once a year to Powell for a week, camping on the beach, swimming, skiing, fishing. it was all we could think about when we were young , here is a pic of the family setup, there both still in the family, thinking back i can't believe how many hour's were spent in that truck during the desert summer with no A/C, no TV, no games, just us kids driving our parents crazy...

Thanks again guys! It is a find, building it is no cheap prop either though! But we'll get it done! RJ's already gathering up the woodworking tools for the interior. He's excited! 

Been looking for almost a year to replace my late Biesemeyer Mini-Day that I loved for most local outings, unless Moo was needed for whatever reason. Couldn't find one I liked and this popped up from a bud in Roswell. I think it's a TAD bigger..........

I'll get some better pics up when it gets here. It's in much better condition than those phone pics show. Should be a fun build! there's about a truckload and a half of parts for it, a lot of them new, like the center rise exhaust manifolds, the engine hatch, etc. He figures about $7k just in the new parts, I think that is a little low estimate.

I think it's gonna stick with the 460's, since all that is there for them. What I wind up doing to them I haven't decided yet. Real work is building the floor and interior! But I get to do it MY way!  

I think everyones gonna be involved in this thing at one point or another.........

Only got into it myself, very recently. Always wanted one! Just never had the time or money for one. Growing up my uncle had a Sidewinder he kept at the Ohio River near East Liverpool that he used to scare the wits out of us kids in. Years later he moved to Az and bought and built a badass Biesemeyer 18'. Every time I came out here it was day trips to Sag or Bartlett Lakes. He sold it about the time I moved out here. My wife and I were discussing it for a couple of years, and after her passing we saw in her IE history she had been looking over a couple on Craigs List. Rest is history, and some 8 boats later......

I wouldn't bother with a bowl change on the JE, myself. Although it will fit, I think the "deficiencies" they talk of on the JE relate to intake size, volume, etc. Haven't noticed these "deficiencies" much myself,  comparing performance of my JE with my JG or JC. It's just a little different, but uses mostly the same parts! What I see as an advantage is the impeller is MUCH closer to the water, and water from the intake has a far less path to travel to get to it. Plus one less leak point. But I ain't racing it either.

JMO. Throw on a diverter and a loader and I think the JE will surprise you on it's own!

If the oil LEVEL was ok, and the oil looked a tad milky, could just be normal condensation or incidental water ingestion that happens and comes from running and playing hard with them. Sometimes the way we run is a little nuts (Nordie), like driving directly under anothers roost! Waters bound to get in there some. I wouldn't sweat it so much, usually evaporates off, or in a severe case, such as the latter event, an oil change might be required, but not an indication of a real problem with the engine.

If the oil LEVEL is WAY up, like a quart or even more and REAL milky, yeah, you got an issue, and could be a serious one. (Recently had one of those!).

Running the engine 10 minutes...Hopefully with the driveline disconnected and on a hose, or on the trailer in the water, would not be sufficient to warm everything up or cycle the engine unless the rpms were run pretty hard. Also look at the water coming out of the engine (On the ground) for the "rainbow" that is oil or fuel.

If there's 1/4" pipe plugs in the bowl, yeah, you need to fill it with 90 weight. If there's zerks in there, then it takes grease. Someone else should recommend what kind of grease if it's set up with zerk fittings. I tend to use expensive crap....

A pressure guage would be fine, for dialing in exactly what pressure you're looking for, but honestly, it'll never popoff anyway unless theres another serious issue that will rear it's ugly head much sooner than the valve actually doing what it's supposed to, I would think. I know, I run one as well.........paranoid is paranoid........

In other words, a solution to a non problem, in most cases.
