Ps this is a new problem lately..havnt changed from when it was running good untill end of june...
Bigblock ford ,dual point mallory,mechanical fuel pump.....
3/8 fuel line from tanks to manual tank selector switch
3/8 to fuel water seperator filter (new)
3/8 to fuel pump
3/8 from pump to fuel rail
And -8 fuel rail to carb with non liquid filler fuel pressure gauge
And no kinks from what i can tell
Timing set at 32 deg full advance @ 3k rpms
Runs and sounds great on trailer ...but under a load i have problems

got 86 jets up front w/ 2.5 powervalve
got 89 jets out back w/ power blockoff
been chasing down gremlins since i got it running LIKE MISSFIRES AND ELECTICAL SHIT
was watching the fuel pressure gauge while woman was driving....
5+ lbs psi @ idle and bouncing around 2.5 to 3 lbs psi at wideopen
PLEASE ADVISE??
PS RUNS LIKE SHIT OFF IDLE

THANKS GUYS, definitely going to look into the power filter...and the cheaper unit.
just to see if it would fire, I switched out the dizzy with my dual point and she fired right up...going to look around further and see whats going in the harness back there....

So...my voltage is....12.10 @ begining of resistor and end of resistor and both side of coil.

OK since ive been poking around, fixing little things on the new powerplant and getting the boat together....when i fire it up on the hose i seem to be getting more water exiting the exhaust on passenger side by like 50% is a rough estimate
bigblock ford with logs
water routed in from pump, goes up front to a "t" enters exhaust log to "pre heat / cool "......
exits log to waterpump plate , goes through motor and exits thermostat housing......
from housing goes to log risers and exits exhaust tips @ transom..
this is how ive always had it since i got the boat....
any imput?

thanks for the imput boys...
i found the broken wire @ the alternator while pokeing around, the wire pulled out of the connector and looked like it was grounding out on the spark arrestor shield on the back of the alternator ..left it disconnected and fired up the motor / reved it a few times over 3k on the trailer seemed ok..... i put on a new connector to the alt wire i will fire it up again tonight after work and test things out with my meter....
not sure if this is related but...
i have had intermittent problems with the circuit breaker popping @ the back of the wire harness
as well as the ignition switch...i would switch it to the on position and get no power across the gauges after multiple tries and than it would start???
