Few more pictures. Finally stopped raining enough to get a few welds thrown on. Got the new main runners back in place, and Im adding another cross brace under the bar thats in between the tires, where the center shackles pivot. It was bent up after the rust ate away at the frame where it was welded. Wish I woulda had someone there to take pics of me flipping it over! Talk about genius! Nothin a snatch block, chains, mule tape, a 4x4 quad, and an old toyota cant handle!

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / 454.. Buy it?
« on: February 22, 2010, 06:55:23 PM »
Found a 454 today in the back of a truck. It was covered with plastic. I asked the guy and he said he'd consider selling it for 400 bucks. Its a complete motor, even has the power steering. Says it ran fine when he pulled it. Block cast number is 361959. Worth it? Could find the numbers on the heads. Worth buyin?

The plate is on top of the carpet thats glued down pretty good. I can jump up and down on the floor and it doesnt flex. Any other way I can check it out without ripping up the carpet? The story goes.. when the boat was in the paint booth someone stole the trailer and they replaced it with this one. Theres already some surface rubs from the lack of inner fenders. I do have some extra 22s I could throw on the trailer  :D  Now that would be pimpin! I got plates with it for the BBC.

Im not sure on the full story. The guy I bought it from ran it with a 455 and blew that up, then built a BBC that hes putting in his new boat. It was all redone in 05.. Carpet, interior, gauges, and the engine bay was sprayed with Rhino Lining. Custom truck shop from Fresno called KRZ Customs had it redone I believe. Looks to me like they used all House of Kolors paint. The whole hull that is white is full of blue pearl. Only picture I have of the engine bay is kinda messy still. Cant wait to clean her up! The guy said Tom at JBP went thru the pump and OKd it. Tom, was the guy full of it or do you remember the boat? He said you also built the 454 that was in it.

Trailers / Trailer Length
« on: February 20, 2010, 11:06:24 AM »
I was hoping someone would know how long their trailer was. My plan was to cut the full length out of the trailer and replace what I cut. Problem is I got carried away with the torch to make my life easier.  :banghead: I have an 18 foot V Drive. Just need a measurement from the rear most crossmember to the tounge.

Audio / Re: Stereo System Advice...Please Help
« on: February 19, 2010, 10:10:58 PM »
Yah, Id say it also depends how many watts the 4 channel is. That CD player will run the 6.5s and even the 6x9s at a decent volume. Any amp will make it sounds better turned up. As far as the 8s go, depends on the watts. I have a sony that ran 4 6x9s in the party barge and it sounds fine. Installed an amp for the highs and an amp for a 12. Sounds great even loud now.

Hulls / Re: Sleekcraft?
« on: February 18, 2010, 06:40:48 PM »
Im looking for something thats not a huge project. This one has newer paint, great looking interior, rebuilt Berkley jet, Hydro jet evader, new gauges, decent trailer, and a rhino lined engine compartment. All she needs is a motor with headers. Set up for a BBC. Looks like a good starter jet. Price is right, I just have no idea how they perform. Does anyone have any pictures of one in the water? Kinda want to see how high it sits.

Heres a picture of it. It looks like a good buy to me. Everythings there but the BBC. I just want a jet to play in the lakes while we build my dads Hondo up to go fast.
