Probably, but Tom's the guy to ask. Honestly, if he sold you the diverter, he woulda automatically told you you need more cables though. Been my experience with THE MAN!

BTW, post pics of putting it on, gonna do the same thing on my JE VERY soon, as well as a stainless AA impeller. (Tom may well get to install both, I'm almost scared of what I built)

X2. And they can all be built to haul the mail. I've learned THAT much. I wouldn't change out to a Chevy if everything is already there for the Ford. Unless you work for GM, that could be an issue.

There's plenty of support, parts and upgrades to be had for the 460, and the 455, why add to the costs with a new bellhousing, rail kits, motor mounts, driveline, let alone all the wiring will need changing because of the ignition location (See, I didn't mention anyones end on that) Unless you're building a racer? Even at that all those engines would work fine.

I think I'm repeating myself, but my uncle is a devout Chebbie guy, and my first instinct was to change everything out to the 454. He stopped me, and I'm glad I did. My boat runs like a female ape at the zoo on Viagra day, and with the new tunnel, I'm probably gonna need some serious Jet work done to keep up with it. If I don't kill it first. Tom might have to hide this thing in the back of his shop for awhile.

MIght be interesting to see a Mopar in the mix, I'm a HUGE fan. Not the Hemi, been overdone. Would be nice to see a well built 340 or 440 shaft head tearing it up! Now that I say that, how about a 426 Stage III MAx wedge, how cool would that be?

Dunno about the Pontiac though. Great engines, and I saw a complete set of mounts for one on Ebay awhile back. Built a 67 GTO and 69 Firebird 400 Convertible back in High school, ( both long gone) and Hi-po parts were scarce. Save for the oiling probelms we would have at around or above 5k rpm, they ran very strong (The GTO was built with a 428 SD block and 69 Ram Air IV heads). There was a place back in those days, can't remember their name though, that specialized in Pontiac performance stuff.  I wanna say they were in Chatsworth Cali, but that's been 20 years ago or more.

Bottom line, stick with whats in it until it breaks, and breaks beyond all repair. Always easier to rebuild/upgrade what you got than changing everything all out.

Well, I got the Throttle linkages done. They're a little hilljack/backyard, but good enough to get measurements from and get my baby brother to fire up his Kira Machine Center. AND, they WORK!. So much for 'you have to sideways mount them'. I think Terry knew this would work all along, just wanted it to be MY idea.

Will look better with milled brackets, but it was kinda fun making sure we kept the same angles, or as close as I could measure, on all the linkages and throttle cable. Neat thing is, the throttle is easier to operate too! Not sure THAT'S a good thing yet!

Got it timed again, dammit, go figure it would happen to me.  I figured if I mark the dizzy and block where it was set, and mark the top of the dizzy where the rotor was pointing, I should be ok, and woulda had the dizzy cleared!
The Only thing left is wait on my AN -6 elbows, a T fitting, and run the braided stainless from the pump. I know I'm really gonna need an electric pump at this point, but I am curious how this marine pump will do.

So much for mileage!

Calm down, these guys are trying to help you. The sense of humour, you will figure out quickly here, but they were just having fun. Actually, most of the bad stuff was aimed at 2Sav for offering up the Beaner for 4k. (Which is funny as sheit)

If you want a boat, specify what you want. If it's out there, someone here can find it. There are many threads currently running on just that, try the Craigslist spam thread for example.

Also, if A racing boat is what you want, I'd be PM'ing Beerjet , Tom at JBP, GT or Ralph Brunt. Shoulda taken, maybe, an hour of surfing the posts here to figure that much out.

The trailer might come in handy, but it looks about as fugly as the boat. Maybe launch the boat, toss the trailer on top, tow 'em out to the middle of SAguaro lake, or other, THEN sink 'em both? I'll pay the fine for pictures of that,

A screwdriver! Tis all I needed, and had, thank gawd. if you have AN fittings, then the approproate wrenches or a West Virginia Socket Set (Crescent wrench). I've always carried in my cars, and now the boats, a tube of RTV Blue and Black. Never needed them, but always thought I might. Small tool set in a case is not a bad idea. STD and not Metric would be nice. Nordie even mounted a tool box in his, right in front of the engine.

As far as parts, no matter what part you bring, it won't  be the one that breaks. Murphy's, and Ray's, Law. But you might be luckier than me. Since the advent of the boats, I've carrried a lot more in the truck. Jumper cables (In the boat), battery charger, extension cords, garden hose, and a Unilite Dizzy (in case Skip actually doesn't Stiff out on us).

J/K Skip, but gotta raz ya on that. I'll carry that dizzy in the truck until I get a new truck!

Thanks Terry! Couldn't have done it without ya! Got the sideways linkage today and after figuring out how it is SUPPOSED to go on, got my mind back on what I originally wanted to do, and about 1/3 of this linkage kit made it happen. Will post pics of the final product after I machine a couple minor brackets, et al, but I think we're good to go! I'm psyched! Reversed the fuel lines, I plan to put a T for them in the gap between the runners, replacing the hose barbs with AN elbows, and maybe a pressure guage. Hooking up the throttle cable will be a slight challenge, but once I figure out where it needs to go, I'll whip up, or have whipped up, an aluminum bracket for it.

Anyone want some 2" holley spacers? I ordered them, not here yet, but not gonna need them. Hopefully, should have everything ready to go this week for the weekend!




Don't this look better, cleaner and more professional? reversed how the fuel lines are supposed to go, and it just so works they can be t'd under the plenum, with some more AN fittings. No Crap everywhere cluttering things up. Just tight to the intake and carbs! Can't wait to post pics of the final product on this. I got wood!
