I am not trying to teach you how to raise your kid, but let me say this now. 

I have a daughter that graduated HS last year and is attending college with honors and my son just graduated HS and will be starting college in the fall...

I am telling you this because there has not been one college graduate in either my wife's nor my family in several generations. Many members of the military, regrettably,  myself excluded... 

Read to her every night. Sounds over simplified and maybe even a little silly, but they will thank you for it later. Just sit down on the couch after bath time and have your quiet 20 minutes and read ANYTHING, I will make my personal favorite as a recommendation, the Dr. Suess "B" book... 

Let them fail once in a while, it is healthy, you want them to succeed, in order to do that they need to know what failure feels like. I am a firm believer in the fact that you learn more from your failures than from your successes.

Help them to help themselves, this one was hard for me.

You have no idea how awesome the next 19 years are going to be.

You will get frustrated, don't think for a moment you wont. But this is your education.

But RELISH the younger years, spend time, and be yourself. The kids will tell you where you're screwing up, if you listen closely enough.

What's amazing is, mine all relate their viewpoints, integrity, and common sense to me. I'm pretty proud of that! And I can claim I did it as a single parent! (Well Cindy helped.......a little.........  )

Kinda why I keep the Charger around. Back in the day, when I was learning to ski, my Unc thought it was great if we "Nephews and Nieces" survived his roosts and 55 or so MPH in his Olds powered Sidewinder! (Unc is a COMPLETE motorhead. This was back in '77 or so and these things rarely did 50 MPH).

ONE TIME he was towing both his wife and daughter at Saguaro Lake, who kept giving the thumbs up for more speed, and he didn't have any more to give.

He sold the Sidewinder on Monday, bought a new Biesemeyer 18' hull by Friday, and had built a 500HP 454 for it by the following Friday.

He NEVER got a thumbs up again......ever........until the day he sold the boat in 1996...... His reasoning........ "Nobody will EVER ask me to go faster than I can"........

The ones into Jet Boats these days are all about 'Hitting 80+ MPH' , Wheelies and Roost. These youngin's forget what it's all about and why they exist in the first place.

Crewcheif is the exception to the rule, as am I. But we, and MRS Crewcheif, remember what the boats were built for and why.

You are going to be going new, G. Sorry to say, but only the Low-Profile Place Diverter kit (with mods) or the one specific to the JE/JF pump is gonna work.

I've seen, in the last 5 years or so, 3 or 4 on Craigslist somewhere or E-Prey that command prices at or above what you can get a new one for from JBP or me.

Thing with the Edelbrock heads is this.

They will flow with the best C3/D2 (Including the OE And the PI heads)/D1 heads out there. Understand this. Those were based on existing numbers.

Edelbrock heads are conformed to the low compression crown,  93 CC or more CC volume, OR the more performance end at 99CC or less. AND at 75CC or less, the Victor.

Lets build this engine...............Blown or not!!!!!!!

Dude, when it comes right down to it, there are three cables, 4 for us that have Place Diverters. Tom at JBP has a three cable deal that is cheaper than any two cables anywhere and a three cable deal better than that!

JMO, and I know B-rad has his issues with that.

But get the boat dimensions at home and GO from there. get our best price. You ain't gonna beat $125 for all three cables or $149 for all four............

So you would say just go with regular intake gasket and put that piece in and call it a day ? I'd rather do it right. I already have oil restrictors in the mains and a windage tray.

Yes. The source of most "milkshaked oil" issues on the 455 Olds and 460 Ford most often can be attributed to the "Bathtub" style intake manifolds gaskets. Stay away from them at all costs. A phone call to Summit racing, or Jeg's can probably net you a replacement for that sheet metal part, if you feel it's necessary.

That being said, I can see it's purpose but is totally unnecessary if you have a windage tray in the pan, oil control mods, and keep the oil at a proper level. Smoothing and deburring the block underneath there would do wonders for oil scavenging to the pan. Also, the Cam is what's directly under there. Hot oil on the underside of the intake manifold would be the least of my worries. Some people with 455's don't have the EGR passages blocked off, which creates 10 times more heat in the intake manifold than the oil can.......

Yeah a buddy of mine had that issue with his hot rod didn't tell he put more power in it and wrecked it and Allstate wouldn't cover it... Everyone thinks they can get by on the cheap and screw the Insurance companies. Normally they do, on premiums only. But as you said, it'll come back on ya IF something happens....... This is why I get a kick out of Haggerty.......They have enough money to sponsor most of the Barrett-Jackson and Meecum auctions, yet the 3 people I know that have claims with them are still fighting them......
