if it falls through I'll let ya'lls know.

I though for 3 bills someone would have jumped right away.  I've seen 750's needing rebuilds for 2 and change here.

The No Wake Zone / Boat Condo or storage in San Diego area?
« on: February 06, 2009, 12:08:39 PM »
Anyone got a hook-up or info for indoor boat storage in the San Diego area (hell, anywhere from North County to Santucky is fine for me)?  I don't want my new baby outside and it won't fit at my place until I extend the garage.  Looking for ~10'x30'.  Currently I've got her in a warehouse in LA, I'd be nice to have her closer.

I've seen "boat condo" prices range from $189 to >$400 with some quick internet shopping -I was hoping someone here may have an inside connection or the 4-1-1 for reasonable rates.

thanks

Jet Pumps / Re: My new diverter got here today...
« on: February 04, 2009, 12:20:00 PM »
...So when I start to put on my diverter, I realize that my transom looks like crap.  Since then I have removed everything from the outside of the transom, filled many holes and sanded it.  Now I want to tape it off and paint it.  Any suggestions about a good paint that I can shoot or roll?

you know your a jetboater when...

don't worry this boat won't be running by Summer (even though it is perfectly fine now).  Oh yeah, another "great deal" will come by and that will be sitting your driveway as well... ;D

BTW, when my secondaries aren't open I'll see ~4200rpm.

Engine Mechanical / Electrical / Re: MPH ???
« on: January 26, 2009, 10:14:36 AM »
There is NO WAY you should see only 30mph!  Check your throttle linkage and make sure the primary/secondaries are opening.  If your primary isn't opening all the way and not enough vacuum for the secondaries -you're at less than half throttle.   With just your primaries you should see more than 30 or 40.  Look under your intake, maybe there a rope.  Check the weep hole -maybe there's a elephant jammed in the there???

A little perspective:  My 25 Euro, stock 454, ,4 people and easily another 400# of gear and gas will do 50.

Lake Mead / Re: HMMM family event on lake mead
« on: January 21, 2009, 03:38:18 PM »
I haven't been to mead since a kid, probably 25 years... what's near Temple Marina?   Temple Marina doesn't ring a bell...

Before the wifey gets too big (little one on the way) her last trip is going to be around March/April.  It may be nice to head up to Mead and meet up vs. staying in Havi as we normally do.  This trip won't be in the jet -so crossing the basin(s) shouldn't be too big of a deal in the new boat.  Any lodging in the area or suggestions?

Thanks
JT

this may answer some questions...
http://www.socaljetboats.com/index.php?topic=5478.0

yes, spam-o-rama; however, it addresses some of Stainless' questions regarding speeds with a large jet  boats.  The boat is heavy, hell it is 24'. With an "A"  it can easily yank a 200# skier out of the water.  My fastest GPS was shy of 55 w/30 gallons and day camp gear inside.  It was the perfect amount of wind chop (both ways).  With a full load of friends and all the junk it stills goes 50.

Thanks for the compliment, she's always gotten a good response.

Who else has a jet that can take all the foolio's out (and the beers, dogs, kitchen sinks!)

Boats For Sale / Selling my girl... Team Hawaiian Euro
« on: November 30, 2008, 02:30:20 PM »
Here you go guys...

1996 Team Hawaiian Euro Open Bow.  Marine Power 454 HO Sportpac (390 hp).  Dominator w/Hydrolic Place Diverter.  I purchased this about 3 years ago and have had a great time with it.  After purchasing I had the boat completely gone through at San Diego Perf. Marine.  New high perf. heads (990's) complete pump rebuild with an "A" impeller (almost 7k in receipts).  This is a clean turn-key boat.  Starts up every time and runs like a champ -I haven't had a single problem since it was gone through.  The boat is a '96 but shows better than others of this age.  No corney Miami Vice pink and blues.  The interior is in near perfect condition, any aged pieces have been re-upholstered.  This boat has the best of both worlds:  the long V hull plows through rough water and the jet allows safe operation.  It cruises in the 40's (on the primaries) for good economy and will top out in the 50's with the right load.  Take all your friends out for a fun day on the water!  Tandem axle trailer included, along with a bimini to keep you cool on the hot days.  Good for local lake, lower river, and even Havasu.  It's been a sold boat for me -just moving up to the next level.  asking $16.5k

it may help to let folks know what rpm you spun the "A".

BTW, if I went 80 w/a A it would probably take >6k.

The No Wake Zone / Re: How much do you think....
« on: September 17, 2008, 10:51:59 AM »
I think it may be "general speeding" anything below 20 over the posted highway limit.  Something like $120 speeding and $10/mph.  $260?

Sand / Re: regearing a truck?
« on: September 06, 2008, 09:05:12 AM »
With your Ford you'll have 80% of your torque at 1600rpm.  Pick your target cruising speed (say 70) and match your gears/tires from there.  No reason to run at 2k while on the highway when you really on need 1600 to get 'er done.

@ El Cap you'll need baffels, but they may let to slide "this time".

San V will have a helluva wait by early morning...  it's open and it's the last day.  Is 10 now, I may be at El Cap in a few hours.  Hopefully I'll get on without any hassles.

BTW, if you see a short pirate driving a red boat. GET OFF THE BEACH -he likes to park it up on there.   ;D ;D

from the oc, 22 - 55 - 91 - 15 - 60 - 10 - 177 - Rice.    Watch the first 10 - 15 miles out of 177, often CHP.  If you go to Havi (north side) just as quick to take the 15 up...
