You guys are gonna laugh at me, i just know it for digging up an old thread like this. I'm the gullible one, I know. Terry's gotten me at least twice, and the rest of you have gotten me on various occassions. (I thought Terry was BS'ing me about the Flatty, but lo and behold, Brad gets pics of it).
Someone at work today told me a story about this 'Submarine' (Not MY yellow Submarine, another one apparently), on the river supposedly sent up to blow up a dam of some sort (I was told Hoover dam, but that didn't make sense). Me being me, and with Brad, am infatuated with history. So I do the logical thing, I search here and Google it. Never heard of this before. Heard of the one off the coast of NJ, but not this.
Sounds to me like an urban legend, but, were it not for the B-29 crash in the early 50's under somewhat dubious circumstances, I would leave it at that.
In or about the same time this all supposedly happened, were we not employing Nazi War Criminals to develop the A-Bomb, and after WWII, to perfect it? Whom else did we employ to design? Possibly unmanned and 1 or 2 manned subs we KNOW the Japanese and Germans were woriking on? (The Japanese were actually using them during WWII, quite successfully, I might add, rumours and evidence persist they were used in Pearl Harbor).
The timeline precludes any enemy from doing this, BUT, could it have been a failed US experiment? Would make sense if the sub exists. (I dunno if it does, last post I really read said 2Sav was gonna prove it, and now he has a boat to do so)
My thought is this. IF it exists, and IF it is one of the one or two manned jobs, they were launched from torpedo tubes or aircraft. If we had a B29 crash there, and noone knows what they were doing, well, fill in the blanks. Sounds like a test to me. And consider that German and possibly Japanese engineers were used to design it. And the B29 crash was the result of the test?
How many people know we were using convicted war criminals to develop the A-bomb to begin with? I dunno, thinking out loud.
Lol, Just wanted to toss a new twist on this after I read it. Then again, maybe I'm the idiot I think I am wanting to beleive.

Again, I should keep my thoughts to myself, lol.
