I was thinking the same thing yesturday....................But i need a boat :banghead:  Years ago i was in the "fishing zone" and had a friend with a little aluminum fishing boat , great for shallow water , we were looking for new places to fish and came accross what we thought was a sunken boat.... found out later it was a 2 man sub that was on its way to blow the dam during the war. I have asked a number of people about it and only a few know about it... why they left it there........dont know.

I would think they would have more info on it.....A 2 man sub trying to blow up the dam during the war! thats history.....isnt it?

Good God, you guys are the most gullible bunch I've ever seen, and it's not even April 1st.

So did the Germans come up through Mexico on the river, build up enough speed in their 2 man sub and jump all the other dams that were already in place and built in the 1930s, or did they just truck their submarine across the desert well after they lost the foking war, launch somewhere below Bullhead and try to blow up Davis dam which was finished in 1950-1?  ::)

I wonder if the sub was lowered from a special stealth blimp?   :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

Yeah, that's it, the 'timeline' of things...not to mention that pesky thing called COMMON FOCKING SENSE.

What worries me is that the you guys are the brain thrust behind reviving the whole comp jet deal. What with installing your sterring racks in backwards (and still driving the boat..see, theres that common sense thing again) and all the talk of German subs in the river that's going to be going on this year in the pits, and getting free parts off old sunk T decks, it should be quite a season.  :D :D :D

Maybe it got mixed up with this?

Lake Mead B-29 Survey: MHP archaeologists and a representative from the NOAA Dive Center joined the SRC to
document two historic sites within the Lake Mead National Recreational Area, Nevada and Arizona. The sites were
an aggregate plant used in the construction of the Hoover Dam and a B-29 Superfortress bomber that crashed into
the lake in 1948. MHP and the SRC are the only two organizations within the Federal Archaeological Program that
routinely use technical diving to document deep water sites

I thought it was a Japanese 2 man sub. Dropped in after the war by some of my pissed of cousins who had gotten out of the internment camp. The B-29 crashed after spotting the sub and is actually laying on top of it. Just adding another chapter to the story. :D :D Hey he kindof looks like me ;D
