I thought you locals took care of each other and saved those kind of prices for the mainlanders. Maybe you just need to trade him a backpack full of Maui Wowie.

sorry...had a lag for a couple days didnt really have any time to work on the boat.  but got some progress done today, not too much, but its a pretty big chunk off my shoulders.  cut out ALL the rot, made my templates, cut my repair patches and glassed in the floor section.

couldnt glass in the transom section yet since i'm waiting for the epoxy between the wood and glass to cure. will probably have it glassed in tomorrow.  project kinda fell behind schedule this week :banghead:  wanted to have the boat ready to paint by this past weekend, but now it looks like it will be another week or two before i can get my spray guy to come in.  its alright though....now i really dont gotta RUSH.  more pics to come!

i talked to the guy on the phone today.  he said they came off his olds, couldn't use em since he goes out at Castaic(?) and got a $500 fine for noise violation.  yeah, little detail about fitting 454/455 kinda made me wonder.  he says he lives in the valley(? once again....i'm hawaiian).  was wondering if one of you lived close to that lake or his area?  i wanna buy them, but i'm kinda sketched.  i've never seen zoomies on an olds...been looking high and low.  so just wondering if this guy is legit.

Zoomies on an Olds =  Tits on a boar

I would have to ask why (and I run a 455)      Kinda seems like "All show and No Go"   But WTF do I know???

speaking strictly for myself, I don't think zoomies are a good choice for engines that work at the RPM ranges of boats.  My main concern is after a scream across the lake you shut the engine down. The exhaust valves are going to be hot.  Cold air entering the short pipes may warp valves by cooling them too fast.

plus as cool as they sound, I do not think they are allowed at most places.

i'll admit...it is mostly for show.  but i'm not too worried about it because the wifey already shot the idea down.  she's worried about the kids going deaf :screwy:

Good news bad news , the mldg and fill strip is cheap BUT because it goes truck freight only (12 ft sticks over limit for the Brown truck) , the shipping is a killer ! let me know what you need (over all length I'll find out ) what "truck" will make that trip to Paradise the cheapest !  ;D
