A little more work. Ground the rib down and glass, and dash, to hopefully repair it strong where someone else had done a half ass repair on the deck. Also 3 showers later I'm still itching

Thanks Chromey, now I got a bright idea of polishing the whole jet pump 

if you do ...powercoat clear over it  and it will keep polished....

And if everything goes to plan, we want to try and race it at Long Beach.

Was throwin the pistons into the block today, and was turning it over to do cylinder #2, and saw that the piston was still a 1/4" deep....

So I I checked all my specs, crank, piston, rods, etc. And I found out where my fuck up was, when I got the pistons there was a piece of paper with the part number on them, and I checked it online and they were the right pistons I needed. Well today I actually looked at the actual pistons themselves and realized they were a different part number  . The pistons are for 6.385" Rods, not stock length. So it SUCKS we definetly can't make it to long beach, but I guess it gives a good excuse to go long rod 

Oh well, it would have been a very tight squeeze anyway....

It's crazy how a single part can turn into a project

So this is my Project Bowl 

Started out with the old dominator bowl..... where the inside diameter of the exit is around 4.5"s I think? Ray was nice enough to chuck my bowl up in the mill, and go to town with a 6" holesaw so we can get the same exit diameter of a standard JG bowl. After that the bowl was blended for the transition, and I had previously done alot of work on the vanes of the bowl with a long shank bit. Don't really know if this is going to help or hurt, but at least it'll be somewhere close to a standard JG which alot of people get good results with.

And then onto polishing. After the bowl was cut and blended, I proceeded to strip the bowl of all it's paint (even though I spent hours trying to do a tricky paint job lol). Then I blasted it, and began to sand and polish. Right into sanding I knew the bowl would look like dog shit, it would look like a polished piece sprinkled with pepper  . There was waaayyyy too many tiny pits in the surface to make it look decent. So I up and took the bowl to a local machinist to have the outside turned (along with a groove cut so I can run an o-ring). He turned it down, and it came out alot better than it was. The bowl still isn't perfect with all it's pits, but it'll do for now until I can pay someone to do a professional polish job 

While I was busy with work, other projects, gf etc, JR was nice enough to do most of my woodwork and fiberglass. It all came out REALLY nice. new wood where the stereo used to be, fixed the under dash rib with new wood and fiberglass, added a support inbetween the stringers, cut the whole for the turn fin, and hopefully get the floor done. I think I'm over the hump finally and shit's gonna start commin together!  Excited to see what the difference will be with all the changes I've made

I may be cutting another fin in. What's the easiest way to do that.  I was going to drill a hole front and back, then use a grinder between.

Pretty much that's how we did it. We would have built the "hurry round hondo" fin by now, but it won't fit without modifying the trailer
