didnt want to polish the tanks or carpet them since they'll be behind a panel. but i also didnt want to just leave them ugly.

a reason to check *EVERYTHING* on your boat. this was the old fuel fill hose. regular ol rubber, cracked and horrible. gas leaks are no fun.

took the bow railing off so i could clean under the mounts. found a mountain of dirt under there. wetsanded the area and cut it with some compound.

gel coated the dash area. ugly woodgrain was poking thru the previous paint. you can see the holes im filling in the dash and deck, gotta sand those down and slap some gelcoat on those as well.

started messing around with the drive stuff. it appears i need to get the 2 bolts that go into the power steering ram and the pin that goes to the arm. im not really sure what all goes on to bolt this thing up. hrmm...

10 colors 50ft each of 18 gauge (im using relays so i dont need a very big gauge wire). Check out his other auctions. Some are longer, some have more colors, etc.

slow progress tonight. ordered fuel pressure gauge, and 2 fuel level gauges that are the original "precision instruments" gaffrigs.

excited! today i got the bellhousing, flywheel, and coupler. this means the motor goes in!

Don't know if you know it, so just flinging it at you...

There should be two very odd looking fiber washers and two tightly coiled springs, these get put onto the two tabs on the inner transom plate between the transom plate and the bell housing...Literally NOTHING will line up if this is not done correctly..

Do you still need a pilot tool?

I can send mine with the PS pump, I will be at the shop later in the day tomorrow... If I don't get it back, I will stalk you forever...

You building that thing quicker than the factory did when it was new....

already got em brand new.

i could use an alignment tool if u have one. you still have to get back to me on what u want for the ps pump, etc.

i lost an ebay auction for a trim pump earlier today, i was bummed. at like 30 seconds left it was only at 40 bucks. then in the last 3 seconds it skyrocketed up to like 160 bucks. damnit!

picked up some more goodies. with dual batteries i dont think my motorola 35 amp alternator is gonna keep up. so picked up this 160amp instead. also grabbed a fuel pump, gonna go mechanical this time to cut down the noise. and then getting rid of my water pump since the drive has one inside the lower unit.

mounted up the helm, steering adapter, and wheel. then installed the cable to the power steering ram. still waiting on my 3/8" SS clevis pins to come in... i dunno wtf is taking so long.

already had my first bilge spill. i got happy and went to make vroom vroom noises in the garage and turned the wheel back and forth. little did i know the power steering rack had fluid in it and it dumped it all over my nice clean white bilge.

but a little simple green, a couple swipes and it cleaned right up. having that shiney nice new bilge really makes clean ups easy.

there is still SOOOOO much to do... im at that part of the project where its all coming to an end and its getting stressful. little odds and ends are killing my progress. like trying to bolt up my fuel pump, i didnt realize i needed a fuel rod.

so now my fuel pump is just sitting on there waiting. little things like that are small, but they're huge setbacks... i cant run fuel lines, etc.
