so i have a dispute open with ebay... but who knows how long that will take.  So I'm going to try and get this pump in working condition while it plays out...

took the reservoir off and WTF IS THIS STUFF??!

it smells like milky oil and acetone...

look at this shit... "good working order, little surface rust" my ass...

got the pump all clean, gonna make a little bracket to mount the pump to the transom since id rather not use the stock bracket and mount it to the floor... this will give me more room getting it out of the way.

Holy cow, looks like that bitch sunk.

The motors are replaceable, theoretically it should be ok, flush the pump with some diesel fuel, stinks, but works good, then use Marvel Mystery oil instead of DexronII. Really should be OK..

I did send the PayPal crap, but will send it again.

one more thing knocked off the long list... just need to look at some diagrams to wire up the relays with the trim limiter to the switches on my throttles... not quite sure how all that works.

Blue sky (up), green grass (down), dash switch "blue" to trim limit switch from limit switch to up relay(blue), "trailer" straight to blue relay... Done. Be sure to power the pump up by putting the heavy gauge wires to the block ground and the starter lug, I hate it when people put them straight to the battery...

there should be a fuse holder on the pump that powers up the dash switch...

I can do these in my sleep... :o

Looks great, PS pump will be headed your direction in the AM..Thank BTW.

so just the up/blue relay goes thru the limiter?  i dont have a "trailer" button.  so down/green goes direct to the relay?

as far as the supply, ground will go to block ground and the 12v will come from the common lug on the perko, starter is too far away, plus the starter comes from the perko anyways. ill use like a 4/6 gauge, its a short run.

Well, if you don't have a "trailer" switch, how were you planning on utilizing the limiter?

The Perko is fine. The reason (and I should have stated this earlier but I had resin all over me) is the extra terminals going to the battery post causes excessive voltage drop during starting.

Green goes directly to the coil of the relay, yes.

What do you have for a trim switch?

Well, the "easy" fix is to add another SPST, or even a SPDT switch somewhere near the ignition switch. Rex makes a trim switch with the second switch... It's ugly though.

You could just bypass the limiter, if you have a gauge you will just need to educate yourself.  :sly:

so up goes thru the limiter, im guessing limiting how much u can trim while driving so u dont lift the drive out of the water while under way or something stupid like that... then the trailer switch bypasses it to get the drive out of the way on the trailer.

sound like if you're not a moron u dont even need the limiter and its just more trouble than its worth... just dont hold down the up button while doing 100mph.

what about trim sender?  ground one side and the other goes to the gauge?

Yep, the trim sender is as straight forward as a fuel gauge, works the same way, the senders aren't very tough though. Just a carbon wiper.

And you are correct, you really don't "need" the limiter, just makes it so you don't raise it too much and makes the boat a little more morn proof... :o

Isn't there a limiter for disabling the starter in the 'trailer up' position? Its hard on u-joints in the trailer position. Its been a long time since I messed with a Merc.

Boat is looking good.

NAAAH...

gonna take it to my buddy sometime to have em welded up (for now im gonna clamp em to get me out on the water this season.)  but im going to extend the inside section all the way down till like 2" from the tip.  it'll "look" like wet exhaust but in reality it'll be like headers with a splash of water... and LOUD!
