I was re-reading your build again (since its practically the same boat as mine!) and i had a question for you. When i pulled my interior out i noticed i had two holes in the side of the top cap and looking at your pictures you have the same ones. Do you know what they were for? I circled them in red for you.

I have a 82 bahner and I have the same holes . But the seats I have, have a bolt that goes through to hold the seats in

I have an 84 Bahner and I also have those holes from the bolts on the original seats.

Nice build. Do I see this correctly. You are running s big block with an Alpha. Also was that boat set up originally with a sbc. Also wont the weight of a big block going to be an issue

yeh i know im going to have to baby the alpha with the big block.  hammering the throttle would probably blow the upper into pieces.  towing a tube is probably out of the question.  but the cost of a bravo drive was out of the question for this build.  a bravo drive alone would be 3-5k.  im not the first one to toss a big block into a 21 bahner, it should be fine.

I had three customers with Alpha drives and I have installed GMPP ZZ4 350's, never a failure, drive shower is a must have....

some jackwagon at bahner got happy with the 2" hole saw one day i guess... i gotta have something to fill the holes with.



as it is i have tach, speedo, oil press, water temp, fuel press, volt, trim... and then a gas level for each tank.  the hour meter is built into the tach on the gaffrigs so i had an extra hole.   i wasnt about to install a gaffrig clock.  haha.

EDIT lol i re-read the thread, and it looks like the floor is just "glassed" in? Is it that way from the factory? How did you remove it just a BFH? And i figure that you just coat the plywood in resin a few times then glass it into the boat?

the original floor has a single layer of cloth over it with like 4" extended onto the hull.  i used a little vibrating saw to make quick work of the cloth that holds it in and then it just pulls right out. a quick hit with the sander removed the cloth that was stuck to the hull. 

when i put new in, theres 3 layers of mat holding it in on the top.. each one extending a couple inches longer than the first, and then its epoxied to the hull and the tops of the stringers on the bottom. i used a mixture of resin and west marine 404 filler which is used for bonds where strength is needed, not just a filler.  both sides of the plywood are covered in resin for waterproofing.  some people will do a full cover of mat/cloth on the top... but with 3/4 plywood i didnt need the added strength or the extra weight.  its much stronger than the original floor that was in there previously. 

and finally my bracket is here.  ill shoot the cleaning lady if she comes near this thing...

changed the bulbs in my gauges to LED's.  now they're all pretty.





then i mounted up my bracket with my pump... go figure it doesnt fit!  my exhaust is in the way.  even my alternator hits at the bottom.  FFFFVVVVVVCCCCK!#%!(%&!#





now i gotta come up with some 1/2" spacer to move the pump and alternator away from the exhaust... then come up with the same 1/2" spacer somehow to move the crank pulley forward as well...

I'll get the link later. But you can get a "low passenger side" mount and wont have to worry about it

Where did you get the leds from?

and more parts came in today.  time to finish the water plumbing and fire it up.  bummer i have a stupid wedding to go to this weekend.  GRR.
