im just worried that foam gives water a place to sit.  id love to have a ncie comfy soft floor but not if it means im gonna have a giant sponge underneath my carpet.  curious if foam is the norm on most boats.

So, one thing leads to another and I find my seat frames in need of attention before they could be recovered.  I broke down the old frames for the patterns, then began tracing and cutting.  Here is the progress, just about ready to be glassed up.  Hopefully they will be off to Martinez Marine next weekend, wiring is next.

I was trying to keep it as original as possible without spending a ton.  Martinez Marine Interiors is down the road from me and they say they can do the old "checker" stitch or even "diamond" stitch, so I'll be taking it to them. 

How's your interior? Any luck with the tank repairs?

I was thinking about tuck and roll but for a lil more $ I can get the original style interior put back in.  I like the bimini, after I get this thing running I'll be investing in one of those.

Nice work Brandon, looks like you will be ready to head over to Martinez pretty soon. I got all my fuel plumbing done today! I should be ready to fire her up next weekend!

Here's an update.

All seat frames and and engine cover are about ready for upholstery, just coated with resin and and added some woven cloth where needed.  Got started on the wiring and pretty much have the dash complete, added a fuse panel to the mix for the added insurance.  I pulled the bowl off my pump last weekend and found it in need of some attention, not sure if I need to pull the imp but the bowl seal and bearings will have to go. 

There are a few issues on the hull that I could use some advice on.  The previous owner thought it would be good to secure the bilge to the hull with two sheet metal screws.  This now leaves me with two holes the go straight through the floor that are about 1/8th to 3/16ths in dia., what's the best way to fix?  I have read around here that slamming a hardwood dowl coated with resin fixes any holes in stringers but what about through the hull itself?  I'm getting down to the small stuff but they seem to be some of the most important,  any help would be great.

The interior is done!  I took my seat frames into Martinez last Sat. and they turned them around in a week, pretty quick service considering the pattern and labor involved.  I was originally told 3-4 weeks before they would even be able to touch them so I'm glad to have them back so soon.  Carpet is also in with just a few areas to complete and maybe tomorrow we can have it ready to fire(weather permitting).  The list of "to do's" is getting smaller, hope to be floating soon.

I really dig the waffles too, I haven't seen very many boats with this pattern( only one that I know of has this pattern and it's another Hallett) which is pretty unique.  There is an old Hallett ad out there that has a similar model with this pattern on the seats so I guess it would be the "original look".

This is what had originally been in the boat and it was different so I kept it.  Just try'n to stay nostalgic and diamond stitching is common enough that I didn't want to blend in.

Mines the only one I'm aware of around these parts with diamond stitching, but you'rs is DEFINATELY different! Can't stop looking at it..........getting impure thoughts now on my big boat........

The pump is out and on the work bench.  I took a shot at removing the impellor nut and no luck, that thing was on the solid.  So I used heat next and still nothing, even with a huge breaker bar and 3/4 drive socket.  I had no choice but to do a little surgery and you can see the result, Winning!  Now to figure out how to pull the imp. with out killing it.  Does anyone local have the imp puller I can borrow or ideas on how to make one?
