82 Eliminator Sprint

Sean's (allfiredup) gel on his sprint was pretty bad when we went to pick it up. It has been sitting outside under a canvas cover untouched for 6-7 years only miles from the ocean. I thought it would never shine again but Sean proved me wrong. Its absolutely beautiful now.

mine wasn't as faded but I used 1000 then 2000 and finished up with 3000 all Wet then machine buff

It was a learning process for sure, I wet sanded the whole boat first. I dont remember the grit I used but it was the finest one, then I used hard turtle wax compound and then mild meguiars compound then polish several times and wax, and yes, ALL by hand. It was not fun but in the end was worth it. Plan is to get it capped this winter

Got a little done in the last two days. Had someone knowledgable check out the pump and said everything looks good. Theres some work done to the impeller and bowl. Had a fresh wear ring and impeller looked good. Getting it painted and put back together. Pulled all the wireing, carpet and got one gas tank out. There was glass all over both of them and they looked like crap from having carpet glued to them so i wanted to get them out and cleaned up. More to come.

pretty crazy with the small stringers it didnt have the spider package(parke floors) and no bulk heads for the tanks it must have been a special order unless someone bought it bare and rigged it themselves.i bet it was a old race boat of some sort id do some homework and see what the original owner di with it might be a cool piece

Just Electric i was wondering what kind of glass you used when you capped your boat? like short strand or did you just cut the glass up in a cup and mix with resin and stuff in there? just trying to get an idea. and if you get a chance can you take a few pictures of your trailer for me because i dont think the bunks are in the right spot especially since its not the original trailer

and i want to have a better idea so i can possibly find a nicer boxed one and then sell the one i have.

The cap was done with mutiple layers of mat and glass then ground down to shape. The drivers side towards the rear on these thing are outta wack so your gonna have to tool it/shape it to the desired look or you will notice it in the cap job
Here's a pic of my trailer but you can always cut off the risers Znd have a local shop weld them on to the right width between your strakes of the bottom of the boat

Went and picked up the pump from getting powder coated and printed today. Pretty pleased with the result

Still need to get the place diverter powder coated to match but that will have to be another trip. Gonna be diving head first into the hull in the next few weeks on a few repairs trying to get that all dialed in.

Finally got the heart of the beast! 454 4 bolt main, 405 hp with good rods and forged pistons. Don't have a ton of money to beef her up right away but i think its a hell of a good starting point. I already have some Rewarder headers but they're kind of gummed up from some repair work near the weep holes and this motor came with some decent bassets that are in pretty good shape but need to be re-coated. Gonna clean it up and throw some gaskets and a little paint and rebuild the carb. Still have a ton of work to do to the hull though and then get all the rigging done and throw her in one of these days.

Made a little progress today. Removed the dried out side supports and the piece that seperates the bilge and cleaned up the rough stuff left behind. Still more prep before i install the new wood.

Got a few updates. Picked up my headers from Embee and they look amazing, they did a great job. Price was 250 plus tax so 270 even out the door! And while i was down in the area i picked up a round keel berkeley intake from sam(19ftcheyenne) and took it over to B1racing to have it machined for a shoe and ride plate and one shim to start. I also talked to chris and im probably gonna have him order me a new droop snoot. Since i posted last i picked up a weiand team g intake, some scorpion roller rockers and im also gonna put in a new cam. Ill post up specs when i know what im gonna go with. Then whenever i have time ive been doing alot of glasswork but im finally moving forward instead of removing someone elses shotty ass work. Oh and i also picked up a nice trimetric stringer mount pedal from a guy off of the other boat site but waiting for that to come in the mail.

Thanks guys, and it's definitely getting a rail kit. I just picked up a nice flywheel cover and then I'll have to get some motor plates built. Still a little ways away from that though haha!

Ya, I do, the pics were taken mid project so it wasn't installed yet, I put a 1 wire 100a powermaster on it, we fabricated pretty much everything out of 6061 including the alternator mount, the only thing that I ordered was the flywheel cover and mounting blocks.... It really cleaned everything up 👍
