Here's what I WANT to put on it, but I may face some resistance.....

I'm a sucker for Halibrand-style wheels. I had them on my flatbottom trailer and it made the look.
here's some stuff I can get if there is anything you like let me know I can also get brand-new trailer tires as well

Yesterday was tons of fun..... get new tires and clean and pack the hubs  :sly: No surprises.... bearings are all good, seals are ok, after cleaning decades of grease off the hubs they looked like crap, so gee, let's paint them.
Gotta get some gardening done, then see if it wants to light off.

Well, no love firing it today. I don't think this starter has the balls to spin a 12:1 motor, so time to find another (and pull the motor to replace it )

I got one you can borrow if you want to make sure it's the starter.

I appreciate the offer, but with the PIA this is to change, I need to do this one time. 99.9% sure this starter just doesn't have it 'cuz it cranks slow and I can spin it with a breaker bar. Too much compression, too little starter.

Holy crap! Cranked it over when I got home and got a sneeze. Gave it a shot and it lit off! This thing is nasty as hell but a bit temperamental. This starter doesn't have the cranking speed to light it off consistently so it floods. A new starter will be coming.....

Filled the bowls with 110. The tanks still need to come out for a look see. That'll happen when the passenger seat comes out for new wood. This thing was crisp and had that pro stock bark to it. It'd be nice if I could get it to start consistently.

My idea was to replace the seats with the buckets you had, but the Treasurer is watching what I'm spending on this and I don't know that I can blow by a new upholstered pair by her. For the time being I'll do what I did on the Commander.... replace the wood on the passenger side and re-use the foam and vinyl.

Pulled and cleaned out the starboard fuel tank. Was really surprised to find around 3 gallons of fuel in it. Drained it, checked the inside and it was spotless. Put it back in and the other side comes out tomorrow for draining and cleaning.

Pulled the other tank, emptied and cleaned it as well as waxing the hull under it. I'm going to run it on 1 tank to sort it out and really only have the seat wood left to do before getting it wet.

Looking like the shake down will be the week of 9/12. Tourists should be off the water and be able to make nice smooth mid-week runs to get it dialed in.

Picked up more 110 today to even out the tanks and get a couple runs in when we're out in September.

Still working on getting the last loader bolt drilled thru, but there's more to be done. Pulled the passenger seat, pulled the vinyl and foam off and started building new wood. Got it all cut, fitted and ready to glass and resin wash. I can get that done after work this week and will have a couple weeks to get the carbs set and ready for water.

Here's what started the whole loader bolt fiasco. I figured it'd be a good idea to remove it to check it out since it's been sitting so long. Had a lot of surface rust and wasn't looking forward to sanding it to prep it for paint. Tried a tip I heard of by soaking it in white vinegar for a day. Came out like day one! Neutralized the acid, and did a little prep before shooting it with white epoxy. We'll see how well a blocker works with this setup.....

More progress on the seat. Glass the frame tomorrow, start resin washing and throw the old vinyl back on...... :screwy:

Last loader bolt is out and drilled for through bolting. Grade 8 Fasteners are on order and have backside of the seat back glassed. Tomorrow I'll glass the inside and resin wash the wood. Getting really close, buncha little stuff left to do before 9/12.

Had a minor fuel leak but was an easy fix. Just waiting on the starter so I can put the hose to it, set the idle mixture and ignition timing.
