The kids want to build another circle boat.
Somebody started with the center seat base and put a fin in farther up under the subfloor.

The 18' bubble is a Bonneville and the 19' is the Bonneville TR. The 19 has the large flat chine, but the 18' has a faster bottom.

Only paid 300.00 for the hull, just couldn't let it get away.

Very good score Ron! Sounds like your "Kids" have it in the blood, and yeah, they're gonna wanna kick Pops a$$!

Mine already do! After a nighmarish start for them, 11 and 13 at the time, they're already dividing up the boats as to whose is whose!

(RJ claims the Greenie, begrudgingly, since he lost the Biesemeyer he adored, and Becca claims the Yellow Sub, no matter what I do to it!)

The Yellow sub started out as a VERY mild build, all of a sudden, she wants all sorts of upgrades! We'll see, I think I'm sticking with plan A, right now, on it! I doubt the thing will ever keep up with Moo no matter what I do, but will handle much better I have no doubt.

We'll see if RJ actually lets me put this new motor into the Green boat or not this spring. Might have to come up with a daycruiser to distract him (SQUIRREL!!!!!!!!!!).

LOL! Good motor too! I think I'm gonna be voted off the island if I pull that engine and install the new Blown one, hence my search for where it's gonna go......... Still negotiating on an SST right now, maybe. But I wanna at least TRY it a couple times, lol. Talk about a ride!!

Thanks Ray, My kids have grown up going to the river. Kami since she was 3 and we used to put Vance under the deck of the Advantage in his car seat when he was 4 months old. All of our vacations have been lake trips all over cali. Alot of good memories and the kids still want to hang out with us. It's been great, wouldn't change a thing.

Sounds like your on the same track with your kids. It keeps the lines of comunication open and they will have plenty of life long memories.

I've got so much crap in the front of the house, I can't put the boat outside until I move some stuff around. Now my wifes car is outside, this isn't going to last to long.

Well it shows signs of being a race boat in its past life.

Bolt holes were filled where the steering used to be mounted in the center.

Inside on the transom there are oval plugs where the cav plate rods went thru.

On the outside of the transom you can see where the cav plate bolt holes had been filled.

Vance and I sanded for about 2 hours today, just to clean it up a bit and to get a better assessment of the hull. Got most of the primer off where the cap is. The primer was checked really bad. I thought it was only in the primer but its in the cap itself. I guess it going to have to be ground out and reglassed (probably need to call Omar and see how his glass work is going).
We also cut the floor out and removed the fins.

Thanks Frank.

A few more progress pics from sunday.
Turns out the checking was only in the resin on top of the cloth. We ground off the resin and v cut some cracks, I hope we can have it glassed up this next weekend. Also want to glass over the gas fill holes and a few other repairs on the transom.
Vance cut open the bulkhead to the bow section, another 45 bags of flotation, just like the last time.

How is it you keep ending up with "miami vice" boats at your house?

J/K Ron looks like you guys are making some good progress, and should have another circle boat ready to go soon!

Roger must of got a deal on this bagged styrofoam. Although this time the bags weren't brittle and breaking. Got all the foam out in 20 min including using the shop vac to get the loose stuff. Much easier than the spray in stuff i've seen others removing.
We are trying to get a push on it while Vance is home from school, he goes back on the 4th.
