I like your boat! I had one just like it, but brown. lite lay up with a ford motor and a berkely pump. It ran 78mph and the pump was very very warn(gear it an the bearing noise goes away ;)) I also did the same thing as you(redid it) wish I didnt do that >:D I spend like 5 to 6k on it and the sold it 3 river trip later. (get like 8500 for it) But I painted it , carpeted it, wired it, plumbed it, painted the trailer, gauges, enclosed the motor and put a electic hatch. plus a blower for the gas fumes. oh ya int. too  ;D
I did all that and I liked it better old sh!tty broan and tan :banghead: I just use the boat more when it was old looking :screwy:

Guy's i appreciate what you are trying to say, but its not like i had this boat forever and then just decided to rebuild it... And i dont think anyone would have just put a motor in it and run it with there family in it and all ???

Gauges where junk, wiring was VERY brittle and you know the rest of the story...

What was...........

to what is :D

And if i knew what i was doing, it might of been done by now.........Regardless i love my boat

Dont let them get to you 2sav  ;) .  Its your project and it needs to make you happy, so let it be done when its done !!!  Theres no need to rush things or cut corners now, you have way to much time and money in it to halfass it together to get it on the water. Thats what Rod did and it cost him a motor, now hes taking his time and doing it right.  When people ask me when the Eliminator will be done, I say, when its done it will be done and not a day sooner  ;D ;D

BTW, its looking good, keep it up and get-it-done  ;) ;D

How did it cost rod a motor? The motor was built right. From what I heard. It was Rod that ran old gas that blew the motor up ;D You forgot the Rod factor! :banghead: O0

Do you mean the Sanford factor  ::) ::) ?  Yea you have a point there,  but can you explain how "bad gas" only affects one cylinder  ??? ???
Dont forget this,
(quote Rod from the Mach 1 thread)  I had a mechanic briefly look at the engine in the Mach 1 this morning (he's here to fix the family boat's water pump and eratic running condition). He said it looked to him like there was a bad vacuum leak on that cylinder. He asked if the heads were surfaced (yes), asked if the block was surfaced (yes), asked how it idled (didn't idle very well at all), asked if it had any popping out the exhaust (yes), I then showed him the cylinder head and he looked at the gaskets and said that he could tell the gasket wasn't sealing and then he showed me how he could tell.
(unquote)
Bad gas my a** .   ::), that motor was in big trouble before it ever saw water, but he ran it anyway.  Go back and look at that thread , it was running like crap (wouldnt idle, popping, etc, etc) and he ran anyway just to get it on the water and try to get it faster than 49 mph  :screwy:.  Lesson to be learned = take your time and build it right, than if something is wrong fix it before you go to the lake.

Sorry for the thread jack 2sav, now get back to work !!  ;) ;D

(unquote) sanford factor(yes) I think and I'll ask today. The motor I think was new right! Yes it was all about the gas thing about it did help that it was a year and a half old (something like that) did it!
Sorry 2sav,  O0

building boats do get expensive. summer before last i owned two jet boats, boated all summer and made two grand off 'em. I have NEVER baught a turn key boat. My boat was supposed to be turn key and it took a month before i started it and i've had everything out  of it but the block, trans and steering. I t was turn key yesterday till i pulled the mag, will be again when i put the new one in today. It takes alot to make 'em turn key so hang in there, do it your way and get r done....just keep it! I started w/ a $1500 boat and in a year i worked up to a blown flatty and am into it well under 10 G's

Nope  didn't sell her........  Just been having some vehicle problems.  Had to put the wife's van into the shop and the bill came up to $1880.67 :banghead: luckily the warranty covered some of it.

Thats why i have not done shit to the Bahner :'(
Started to do the wiring yesturday.....I ran out of shrink tubing so i had to just drink beer instead.

Stopped of at Ace hardware and picked up some more so i can finish it today.  (maybe)
