i've wasted a whole night just trying to get my balancer off.....it needs to come off to put the new motor plate on.

i broke the puller i had....and then rented one from checker...and this one is bending and about to break.

anyone have any suggestions?  

tried heating it up with MAP gas.....still nothing....

anyone?

You have a 1/2 in impact wrench ? and air ?  The impact gun always did the trick for me. Also I might be a little bit worried about the heating and messing up the crank seal.

i used 1/2" impact with air....max air pressure (like 140lbs).....its not even turning the push bolt a bit.

You did take the washer out of the center of the balancer right. Just checking

I just got home from work ....i left the puller on it last night with tension on it.....i just went out there and gave it a real good tug with the 18" breaker bar and it popped ...finally broke loose. man, what a pain in the ass.

is there anything i can put on it so it doesnt do this again? some anti seize or something?

You can use virtually anything, I use Moly Lube...I also use RTV on the key slot in the balancer....

I figure I have 4 days to go. 5 if I consider thursday, but im trying to reserve that for testing.

I have to do the following:

-mount motor (its just sitting on the rails currently)
-mount seat
-mount pedal assy
-mount gas tank
-wire gauges, ignition (using previous wire loom)
-run plumbing
-set up pump (ride plate/cradle, wedges, nozzle, steering)

after the fiasco with the balancer, i thought i was going to have to throw in the towel.....but this is starting to look very possible. The motor went in with a snap. I just dropped it in and it was dead nuts on. I didnt have to cut/shim at all.....dumb luck. Ralph and I spent hours dialing in a rail kit before.

If I really stuck to it, I could have all of the above done in 2 days. we'll see.   ...just glad to see the light at the end of this tunnel finally.

 You did a good job with the drawings/design Brad.  If you give Billy (ironman) the right dimensions, the parts come out right, like yours.  I knew when I saw the plates sitting here they would need a little work for your fuel pump (small notch), but it looks like you got it handled.
