Crazy Eights Resurrection 2016
« on: September 07, 2016, 08:51:58 AM »
Well, its been a long time coming....and things are coming together quickly. I get asked constantly "whats up with the crazy eights??"

As of right now its sitting on the side of my house gutted, dirty, and looking very sad - but not for long.

I have a Dyno date set at Westech this coming Monday the 12th to dyno the motor that Bostick has been building for some time now. If all goes well, I will be bringing it back home with me. The motor plates are being water jetted this week by Wes Morgan. The pump is at B1 being gone through. I hope to pick it up while I am in town for the BayFair the weekend of the 16th. I also dropped off the seats yesterday evening to get upholstered.

This weekend's goal is I have some fiberglass work to do, get the new motor rails in and rig the throttle and stack gas tanks. Basically have everything ready, so I can just bolt up the pump and drop in the motor.

The goal is to have it at the Southwind Regatta in 3 weeks.

What is the compression ratio? I'm very  anxious to see the numbers this thing puts down on the dyno. Should run hard 👍🏻

Is this thing top ten material? Or just for circle racing?

It's set up for circle racing...but I'll probably jump on the top 10 list for fun

I used a online calculator with some numbers off the top of my head.....looks like it will be roughly 13.5:1

I am thinking about doing a contest on the dyno day to see who can guess the closest to what the max hp/tq will be and at what RPM. ....but of course, I will post all the exact hardware numbers before then.

That sounds fun! Plus I am super jealous that you get to dyno yours. Wish I would of.

If it looks like circle racing might be very limited, maybe you should have Bostick fine tune your set up for a little squeeze, to help you be competitive in the top 10.   8)
