rubber plugs are a band aid fix.  while its okay for a quick fix, if that thing somehow comes loose, it could be a difference between sinking and floating.   my guess is that they put it in because the freeze plugs needed to be replaced but then realized you cant really do it with the block in the boat.  or maybe it was someones hoaky way of "draining the block"  :screwy:

it looks like you made a ton of progress on getting it cleaned up already!

After some more crawling around under the boat after jacking it up the damaged area isn't that bad at all. I have come to the conclusion and realization that that patch really isn't a patch at all. Its looks all funky because it was an attempt at cleaning up the strake after something hit it while the boat was on the trailer and that's thy it looks all drippy. And the reason it looks all big and gotty is because that's where the strake rounds off and ends.

Well have fun man. This is more of a run it on the trailer for a while, do some tinkering and let it float while my little girl and I fish kinda trip to lake perris. She's been wanting to go fishing so I figure the blue gill and trout may keep her busy for a while. But if we change it to Sunday ill post up. Anyones welcome to come

Perris is  in riverside county by Moreno valley, banning area. Small lake now since they have drained it some. Requires baffles, no alcohol kinda a bummed lake but its 10 mins from my house so it's alright I guess. Not worth driving over a half hour to go to IMO.

Well looks like this boat isn't gonna see water for a while. Cable I have wont work, and I don't have the 100 for a 43bc cable. Unless I can fab something up im sol until I get some more stash money.

whats wrong with the cable that was on it?  if its locked up get yourself a can of PB BLASTER and spray it down inside of it like crazy.  that stuff does wonders.  if it comes unstuck drip some oil down here to keep it lubed up until you can get a new one.

Cable that was on it was shot. Seized, most of the exposed section off the back was cracked out and missing the plastic liner and the small metal lines that make up the housing were broke. The cable I have was for a jacuzzi and its a completely different mounting system. So unless I can reinvent the wheel tomorrow at the Hardwear section ima have to save up for a cable.
