And a couple of pics this morning all cleaned up and ready for the water. Just gotta pull off the reverse bucket because the cable i was using wont work and haven't picked up the cable offered to me, then find my drain plug and shake down at the lake after work

Wouldn't idle all the sudden, runs like shit up to 3k then all fine. Tried all the tricks I know, checked for vac leaks, oils clear and just can't figure it out.

Found one of the plugs on the ports on the carb was pretty much shot and gone but other than that I can't find anything. I have a set of plugs and socket on its way, hopefully I fouled the plugs

Lifters pumped up?, advance the timing and see if things improve.

Does it run fat? Lean? did it pop a power valve?

I thought you windowed the oil pan.... You give up too easy.  ;D

you go through all this trouble... you go to get it wet for the first time and you expected to spend the whole day on the lake?  the first day is the toughest one of em all.  hell i spent a good hour just sitting there on the trailer idling taking up the launch ramp.  making sure this worked, and that, etc.

dont give up.  it runs, it just runs shitty.  fix your vacuum cap leak, thats minor.  slap a set of plugs in it, make sure your timing is set properly, etc...

you didnt mention you had a leak, so thats a big sigh of relief... the rest of the stuff is easy.  you still got some of the season left!  and you beat me to the water.  knowing my luck ill get mine wet and break my drive in half and be done.  haha.

Well, after new plugs, wires, checking timing and vac leaks I figured it out. I red neck cleaned the carb and there it was.

Pulled an honest 55 out of it at 4k with 4 200+ guys and 20 gallons of fuel, and no diverter

I just may keep it. ;)

The earlier decision was based on 8 angry orchard apple crisps, really good stuff by the way and the 103 temp. I was buzzin and pissed cause it was hot and I wasn't on the water
