As some of you may remember I happened to end up on the rocks (in my front yard) and broke my place diverter rudder.........well...... introducing the new and improved slim line, low drag high speed pd rudder. I should patient this before Tim gets ahold of it

Looks good Brosef! Glad to see it on the water and running mostly good. My last boat took me at least 5 trips before I had no mechanical issues. 1st; fuel pump and blown trailer tire coming home 2nd; reverse cable. 3rd; carb issues. 4th; dirty fuel filters. 5th; steering wheel falling off. 6th; leaking brand new Holley Blue pump.... always something but still better than not being at the lake/river. In fact, one day it ran so good my tach caught on fire!!!

Man, I just went through this thread again and damn. I almost feel bad with how neglected this thing has been. Maybe I'll go look at it today, haven't seen it in over 6 weeks, my neighbor let me put it on his rv pad in his back yard. Been having a problem with thefts in the area in the last few months.

Yah it's listed for sale and if someone shows up with the cash or a trade I'm interested in then I guess I'd give it some thinking and go from there. Ever since I had that damn nightmare of a dream of my baby girl drowning I have been all outta wack. The two trips to the lake after that dream I spent more time being OCD about my daughter that my boat only went from the ramp to our spot and back and that was it. And I was by myself at that. Still on that k5 blazer kick, I may end up trading it or the quad for one but we will see what happens.

And pipes the thing looks like a solid start. I love my kona, it's IMO the smoothest riding 18 I have been in and it just flat out handles like its on rails.

I wasn't going to go through 200 plus replies but USCG didnt require HIN #'s until 1973. That may be why you can't find it. My 72' Hondo didn't but my 73' Spectra 20 does...google USCG manuf. Prefixes. Hope it helps... (if someone didn't already say that...

Yup figured it out when I got to look at it last year, the tag and emblems were on it. The last 180 posts were the build and repair of it.

Time to get back on this thing so it's ready for next month. Placed an order for some seals and gaskets earlier. Went and grabbed this out of storage and thank god the last person that painted this thing did a hack job, all the paint pretty much flaked off. Time for some sanding and polishing. Still need to get a droop and another wedge.

My partner in crime, he's been a huge help to me with this project, from flipping it over to flipping it right side up, polishing the aluminum and just keeping me company and bringing over ice cold beverages while working on it. It's back on the trailer and waiting to be picked up.

No, just a good friend and neighbor. The guy in this pic in the red vest is the new owner. This pic was taken las weekend when he drove down here from Fresno to look at the boat and it looked like crap as you can tell. But he liked it enough to buy it. Throughout the week I buffed it out and it's looking better than it ever has.
