New Addition to the SCJB Family...

Parker race is coming up and some changes needed to be made....so I headed over to brunt racing yesterday and had the help of ralph and his pops...i cant thank these guys enough!

Since a lot of the stuff on my boat had been borrowed to make the race....it was time for me to start buyin my own stuff. so all new msd ignition and we decided to try out the single carb top on the tunnel ram. a different carb is going to be on order soon via JBP. Also, we replaced the transom adapter, added a drop that i borrowed from my cousin, and a old style place diverter i picked up a long time ago at the swap meet.

I made some more progress tonight....

i got the rest of the tunnel ram bolted down....finished up the pump...mounted the other tank so i could get the moon tank back to rick (thanks for letting me borrow that!)....and figured out some plumbing issues....trip to home depot tomorrow for my ghetto fabulous plumbing job....black hose with hose clamps. it will get me by for this race. I priced out what i would need for a braided kit and figured it can wait till later.

Any ideas what I can use to seal the black cable at the transom with? its just a hole, no threads.

i just talked to the previous owner on the phone for a bit cuz im trying to track down the title on the trailer still

....he said that it was gelcoat primer on there, not paint

i told him i sanded all that off and painted it white.....all he said was "oh".

You should mount the gas tank on the other side to offset the weight. just my .02

that was seriously taken into consideration when mounting it. I don't think this location will be its permanent home. I couldn't do it on the other side without hitting the alternator....and it would have required some complex fabricating to make it work. I want it to be on the other side, but far enough back to where i can still run a bench seat. maybe you can make something trick for me nick?

Brad concerning the hole for the trim cable... I seem to recall a foam rubber grommet for that hole JBP should know of what I speak. If that isn't available Use some foam backer rod from home center and make a fillet with silicone or in true racer fashion wrap a strip of 100 MPH tape to the cable and force it into the hole!!!

we were back at it this weekend, but first we had to sell a car so all the shit came out of the back yard. kinda looked funny with all the boats and stuff on the street

then we had to get'em all back in to start working

can you say CHA-CHING

nothing is easy

one of the carb studs was stripped so off came the top of the manifold for repair.(thanx pops)

that gasket was on there so good, you should have heard him cussing

i dont remember what he was doing but the carb looks good

doing some late night tuning

the header gasket blew out so had to change it, he loves working on his boat, look at that smile

it runs good on the trailer, but there is only so much tuning you can do while its there.
some sticker work

the motor home is fiberglass and its checked pretty bad and the chrome sticker really shows it, but still looks cool as hell

had a great time this weekend

....and as usual....HUGE thanks to ralph and his pops...i dont know where i'd be with this boat if it wasnt for your help and motivation. As much as we cuss and throw wrenches all weekend....i actually enjoy it everytime we do this. Always a good time.
