Check out the Rex Marine site. It looks like an Impy wheel. This link should take you to their steering hub diagram.

http://shopping.rexmar.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=steeringhubdiagram

It looks like you might need a steering hub adapter.

1st pic is the bolt that goes behind the   U joint assembly  and holds the flywheel on than the u joint bolts over it my question where can I find them and does it have a pre. Determined  length because this one has 1 " of threads and I need no more than 5/8 otherwise it will go past the crank and hit the block.
2nd pic is the assembly that came out the boat I bought nothing like what's in my commander is this home  made injanutiy

Honestly it should be inserted all the way in until it bottoms and pull it back about 3/8", that is where she should run.

Killer project.

believe it or not that's what was on the boat when I bought it and have had no problems with a 750 carb don't know about the 950 I have now haven't ran it yet.  Says it's good for 8 psi.

It would probably work fine but most peeps run it before the fuel pump so water dosent get into the diaphragm  Of the fuel pump and rust up the steal pin in the diaphragm that pumps the has to your motor

Budget scoop tray. 1/2top3/4sides fiberglass all the joints resin all the surfaces and wallaa.  Used 6" 5/16 bolts and through bolted it with the carb mounting holes and then used nut and washer for the carb
